A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 1)

I think it’s a clumsy way of saying “he claims to be a political strategist, but all he’s done is promote himself while all his candidates and causes have failed,” or some such.

Which, of course, is a hilarious accusation coming from Trump.

I really hope that there is something that shows, beyond a doubt, that Hawley is guilty of a crime.

It’s on my list of prayers to Cthulhu that I say every evening.

But here’s a start anyway: https://www.politico.com/news/2021/03/04/trump-appointee-arrested-for-capitol-riot-473825

Some people saw outside groups being given private tours of the Capitol in the days before the attack. And some of the mob moved very quickly towards certain offices, like that of the Speaker of the House. Supposedly these offices are in a maze of corridors and not marked. And there was a clip of one person outside of the doors directing people where to go. So it seems likely that they had some assistance of some sort.

This guy should be squeezed for any information about who helped with the failed insurrection. He seems to think that it’s NOT FAIR, NOT FAIR! that he’s in jail. Let him know that he faces another 20 years there unless he starts to sing.

He apparently had the temerity to criticize Agent Orange’s CPAC speech as long on grievances and short on vision. Shocking …

Is Karl Rove completely unfamiliar with Donald Trump? When has he presented any sort of vision for the party, for the country, for anyone other than himself?

Question: where the hell is Darth Cheney?? The Mango Mussolini has had the unmitigated gall to repeatedly attack Liz – I can’t believe Dick is just going to let this slide. Did he die and I just didn’t hear about it?

He’s still alive, he’s just expressing his inner Cruz.

I hope this will turn out to be meaty:

It’s traditional for ex presidents to stay out of politics.

Snerk.

This was great fun. The re-enactments were brutal. :smiling_imp:

I agree, but I think there might be.

I certainly don’t think any of the legislators that may be involved anticipated the violence, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it turns out to be an “inside job” in terms of the Capitol breech.

I think they had this totally unrealistic vision of some sort of loud but semi-peaceful protest inside the Capitol building (similar to some of the protests at state capitols this spring) and they fully bought into the fantasy of Trump supporters as paragons of peace and love.

And I love thinking of all the bullets these guys are sweating right now. I hope they nail them hard.

Yes, I expect that there was some kind of collusion or support. I expect a thorough investigation will show that in time. I am sure that there are people in power very motivated to uncover this.

However if nothing comes out of this I’m not going to insist that the lack of evidence shows how deep the conspiracy goes. That’s Qanon sort of thinking.

Yes, more than one journalist has talked about how hard it is to find particular offices (for interviews). It’s totally implausible that the invaders found some of them by just wandering around—they knew which turns to make in that maze.

\

That is just too perfect!*

I join everyone else in hoping he’s scared out of his fascist little wits.

*there are WAY too many of these people who would fit into late-1930s Germany astonishingly well. One can’t help suspecting they’re here in 2021 because that’s when their cryogenic capsules opened.

The “person outside of the doors directing people where to go” was Rachel Marie Powell.

What I heard was the invaders were in those offices within ten minutes of entering the building. No way they stumbled on those offices, especially not that quickly.

This is too delicious to be called reasonable, but…

Given a large number of invaders, spreading out in all directions, it would become unlikely that some didn’t find those offices.

My understanding is that if you watch the surveillance video, the invaders made a beeline for certain offices, not that they just stumbled upon them.

“Trump send legal notice…”.

An Onion writer somewhere is crumpling up another “too weird to be true” article.
