I’m betting he wasn’t getting the best of medical care for his pre-existing conditions on the run. Don’t get me wrong, I loathe all they stand for, but the reported treatment he received (not directed as far as I can tell, but part and parcel of the unbenign neglect that is our legal system) was also terrible.
So, I’ll say it this way - I hope that he recovers, and as soon as they are healthy they are sentenced to the full requested time, plus more for efforts to flee, and spends it all in jail while getting a minimum of care that should but is often not provided to our over-incarcerated population.
Okay, him getting free Healthcare on top of it all is just…woah. Not that he’ll appreciate the irony.

General Mark Milley stepped down Friday as the top US military officer with a parting swipe at his former boss Donald Trump, saying no soldier ever swore an oath to serve a “wannabe dictator.”
The stunning rebuke from Milley on his last day as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff illustrated the way the US military has been dragged into the increasingly volatile political arena since the Trump era.
At an elaborate military ceremony for his departure – attended by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and President Joe Biden – Milley did not name Trump, but there was no doubt about the target of his barb.

They don’t need to do that. The MAGAts think Milley is a traitor who should be tried and possibly executed for treasonous activities. You know, the GOP who likes to say they love the military. I used to wonder where the tipping point was. When would MAGAts go so far that they would start losing support. Supposedly when McCarthy was ramping up to go after all the Communist in the US Army that was the final straw, but that’s not happening here. While MAGATs have gone after individuals like McCain in the past, they’ve turned against the US military as a whole decrying it too woke to defend the nation. I’m no longer sure there’s a turning point for MAGAts. They’re all in and fully prepared to drive their flaming wagon right off the cliff.
I have little direct personal knowledge, but it appears there’s s\a sizeable contingent of MAGAts in the military with exactly that attitude. Namely that wokeness run amok has already destroyed the very institution they belong to. And they’re fighting a sullen sub rosa rear-guard action to turn that around, one Army Sergeant or USAF Captain at a time.
