A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 2)

And in response to that, on Truth Social, Trump has posted several quotes from Nikki praising him for his support of Israel. I was wondering why he went off on that tangent.

I remember the second book, I don’t think I read any others.

I read the novella in Galaxy but Mom threw it away when I was in the navy.
I was delighted when I found the novel had been published.

I don’t think the sarcasm tag was necessary.

Bobby Jindal decides he hasn’t been humiliated enough and crawls out from wherever he’s been hiding to lick Trump’s boot.

Correction: 4-year olds! Thanks to @Skywatcher for finding this and posting in the “Real headlines related to Trump” Pit thread …

Be proud, boys, while you face more legal peril:

DOJ appeals sentences of Proud Boys members

The Justice Department on Monday appealed the sentences of five members of the Proud Boys, including its former leader, Enrique Tarrio, aiming to get stiffer penalties for those convicted for their role in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Tarrio, Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs and Zachary Rehl were convicted of seditious conspiracy in connection with the attack, while Dominic Pezzola was found guilty of other charges.

While each of the four men convicted of seditious conspiracy received sentences of at least 15 years in prison — Tarrio’s sentence was 22 years — many of the figures fell far below what was originally sought by prosecutors.

The notice of appeal does not include any legal arguments, and instead alerts the court to prosecutors’ plans.

Funny, I debated labeling him 4 or 5. I thought “His thinking is ultra-childish like a 4yo, but he’d more verbal than a typical 4yo, so I’ll go with 5.” Close.

4.5, you know how important that half is to people that age. rather like getting 2 scoops of ice cream rather than (individual) one.

And another one bites the dust!

Former Michigan GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Sentenced For Jan. 6 Attack

Ryan Kelley, a former Republican front-runner during the 2022 Michigan governor’s race, was sentenced Tuesday to 60 days in prison for his actions during the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Kelley pleaded guilty in July to a federal misdemeanor of entering and remaining on restricted grounds ― down from the four misdemeanor charges he faced upon his arrest a month prior.

Prosecutors had pushed U.S. District Judge Christopher R. Cooper to issue a three-month sentence, noting Kelley’s distinct lack of remorse for his actions, including publishing statements on social media making light of the day.

Ryan Kelley, a Republican candidate for Michigan governor, was filmed shouting, "This is war, baby!” at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Looks like someone, such as the prosecutor, should have charged him with sedition and insurrection. Anyway, the clown’s going to spend two months in prison, so there’s some good news.

And another one gone!

Jan. 6 rioter who smashed window and received signed Trump hat is sentenced to more than 4 years

WASHINGTON — A Jan. 6 defendant who smashed a Capitol window with an ice ax and a giant cardboard tube before she used a bullhorn to instruct rioters on how to “take” the building — and who recently received a personalized hat from former President Donald Trump — was sentenced to more than four years in prison Tuesday.

Rachel Powell, a Pennsylvania woman in her early 40s, mother of eight and grandmother of six, was convicted on nine federal counts in July after a bench trial.

In emotional comments at her sentencing, Powell said she didn’t want there to be any doubt about what she thought of what she did.

"I am deeply ashamed of my conduct,” she said. “I regret it, and it will never happen again.”

Federal prosecutors sought eight years in federal prison for Powell, who ultimately got 57 months, saying that she developed an “obsession with keeping former President Trump in power” after his 2020 election loss and that she even “conducted surveillance at a female legislator’s home” before she took part in the Capitol attack.

So, it wasn’t just the treasonous attack on the Capitol by the patriots traitors, and she wasn’t just a follower; she tried to coordinate the attack. Also, she stalked a female lawmaker at said lawmaker’s home, and she cried police brutality, and violated her pre-trial restrictions. And, of course, she’s still hoping for a pardon from you know who.

The eight years the prosecution wanted was far too short. Four years is a gift. At least she Found Out for her Fucking Around with the law.

[emphasized part mine]

trump is signing swag and giving it out to Jan. 6 instigators? he just does not give two fucks, does he?

How are many of the participants getting prison terms, but the ringleader is still scott free, and so far, completely consequence free?!?

(That last sentence was rhetorical; I know the reason why, I just have trouble accepting it).

I doubt that he is giving it out. He’s probably selling each hat for $30. If you want it signed by him, it’ll be $100.

Yeah, that makes much more sense-- she probably ordered it online or something. Of course trump wouldn’t give anything away as a gift that he could make a buck from.

The company planning to merge with Trump Media & Technology Group, owner of the Truth Social platform, has now walked away from two years of financial statements after informing the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday that its audited financials for 2021 “should no longer be relied upon.”

I love the euphemisms they use. What they really mean is " the audited financials for 2021 are complete and utter fabricated bullshit”

I sense that more people in Trump’s orbit are headed for court and/or jail time. Everything Trump Touches Turns To Shit.

Trump and his team seem to operate on the assumption that if they commit offenses openly, clearly they’re not offenses because if they were, why would they admit it? So Trump can stand up on stage and ask the Russians to hack the Democrats or put clauses in his loan valuation documents that they are utterly worthless, and pretend that this somehow makes it all okay.

I keep hoping that at least one of these court cases features as evidence for the prosecution some of these oh-so-clever elements.

ET4S.

The general principle with all of trump’s scandals when he was President, and seemingly continuing on with citizen trump, is that he does and says so many horrible things that it’s almost impossible for the media (or, perhaps, the prosecution even) to focus on just one. i’m reminded of a Simpsons episode where the doctor tells Mr. Burns that he has so many diseases that they are all fighting to take control and kill him, but none have been successful yet.

“We call it ‘Three Stooges Syndrome’”.

Normally when news like this breaks about a company you would expect to see their stock price tumble, but DWAC’s share price didn’t really blip, and instead just continued its slow steady decline. I guess expectations of fraud and corruption were already baked into the share price.
