A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 2)

I can see that someone as toxic as he believes his privilege is contagious.

Ahah! I knew he didn’t believe in the religious concept of OSAS. In his case, though, it’s Once Solicitor, Always Solicitor. And since his thinking is pretty much reverse of everything else in the universe, he has gotten that backwards, too. She’s not representing his interests now, so he never was. Wow. Just wow.

I had to google that. Assuming it’s not Oregon State Assessment System, or Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (although Trump may not believe in those, either) I only had to go to the third answer to figure out what you meant.

Do you wonder why tanTrump keeps saying stupid things that defy reality, logic and common sense, even from the POW of his own interests? Well, he started it as a scam, he has done it all his life. It worked fine, so he kept at it. He became the master charlatan, the pied piper supreme. It is now his name that will be used when refering to that kind of fraud, not P.T. Barnum’s! And he is proud of that. The problem? When surrounded by accolites and yes-men you end up believing your own lies. Isn’t it fascinating? It happens again and again. Now tanTrump claims that he has already won the 2024 election, no need to vote anymore, he has plenty of votes already. Just watch the vote counting to prevent the Democrats from stealing the election again.

I support this message: If you are a Republican, do not bother to vote. Just go watch while others count other people’s votes and scream “FRAUD” when the results are published. Genius.

I thought he didn’t like POWs?

Which is quite amusing given how they demand that there be no early voting and no mail-in ballots (the latter which will disenfranchise the military and other US citizens overseas).

The problem I see with that is when the Damn Yam loses, his acolytes will rile up the crowd to start shooting and January 6, 2021’s rebellion will be like a peaceful walk in the park.

Trump calls Viktor Orban the leader of Turkey. Who is the person running for president that has declining mental faculties? It’s Biden, right?

Just watch the first few seconds of this video for the mistake (I didn’t watch the rest). BTW Many, many people ran up to him after this speech, with tears in their eyes, and said “Sir, that was the most inspiring speech I’ve ever seen”.

I mean, Hungry/Turkey, it’s all right there.

I give him credit for even that much word association in his now decades-long dotage

I see no problem with that at all.

All the violent yahoos in the USA taken together are nothing the government can’t readily kill or arrest. Between Nov 5 2024 (election day) and Jan 20/21 2025 (inauguration day), the sitting president won’t be the insurrectionist-in-chief actively preventing effective government response to wannabe anarchists.

The sooner we flush out the people willing to take up arms against their country, the sooner we neutralize them. Bring it, Fascists; Bring it!

Those of us who belong to groups who historically live in the crosshairs of fascists would prefer the shooting to not start. I don’t particularly want to be a martyr.

They will do that anyway, he is just making sure that it “will be wild!”. The easier it will be to convict him then, the prosecution will be better prepared this time, or so I hope. Just make sure he loses! Him talking about “having enough votes already” makes me suspect there will be massive attempts at fraud and ballot stuffing. The tanTrump camp is preparing this meticulously. And he brags about it, the fool!

As I have alluded to before, only a fool believes his opponent to be a fool.

I don’t buy for one second that Trump has never seen U.S. before and not realized it spelt us. Not in the last 70 years or so. You can also damn well bet that he knows exactly who Viktor Orban is as well as Erdogan and which countries they govern. He’s just spewing this crap so that he will get repeated, either in the news or on social media. And, it’s working.

I do believe you are correct to expect to see a ridiculous amount of fraud and ballot stuffing attempts made in support of the Republican ticket this time. I just hope our election systems are robust enough to be able to handle it. I suspect one tactic will be that when the vote tabulation centers get so many invalid ballots that they have to slow down, they will try to say the entire process is flawed because they can’t determine the winner within hours of the polls closing. Also expect newly-elected election boards not know what the hell they are doing and make an utter mess of the whole thing.

Yeah, November 2024 is going to be wild. Of course, if Trump gets convicted of a felony and rejected by the GOP, that could change. I hope, but don’t really expect that to happen. It looks like a critical mass has accumulated that really doesn’t care about the Constitution, laws, or anything other than Trump.

I’ve really wanted this one to happen for a long time.

Except it’s working to make him look like a moron. Why would he go out of his way to look even stupider? I feel like this:

Why did he feel the need to ask such a humiliating question?

There’s also a danger in overestimating your opponent’s intelligence or ability.

To be sure, it’s usually less of a risk than underestimating but assuming there’s some kind of 45th dimensional chess going on with Trump personally is giving him too much credit.

The incongruity appears to be in assuming that presuming an opponent is less intelligent makes them any less of a risk or makes them easier to flank or outplay. I doubt anybody makes that assumption about Trump, no matter his level of intellect. It’s like trying to outsmart a hurricane - there may not be a malevolent intelligence that directs it but that does not mean your own intelligence will be sufficient to survive one.

I don’t think he does it on purpose: I believe he is a grade-A moron that was lucky to be born rich enough that even he can’t fuck it up. That he gets some press out might be a benefit to him in his own mind, but I doubt he enjoys seeing the late night talk shows poking fun at his gaffe of the day. Which is why he is always railing against Jimmy K, Colbert, etc.

He is preaching to the choir. His followers will never think him a moron.

The more he gets his video clips repeated on the internet, the more some people start to think, “Maybe there is something behind this guy. A lot of people seem to think what he is saying is worth listening to.”

It’s like his constant repeating that he’s ahead in all the polls. Now, he doesn’t even need your vote. He already has enough votes, so don’t bother. You can bet, come election day that he will tell everyone they need to make sure they vote, twice if they have to. The other side cheats, so we can, too.

You handle Trump the way you handle an internet troll. DNFTT. Stop trying to show how big an idiot he is. Nobody cares. Every time you repeat his name, post a video of him, it just makes him stronger.

In short, we are his enablers. If we keep it up, the Schadenfreude will be on us.

That makes no fucking sense whatsoever

He is currently the leading candidate for the Republican nomination. At the very least, that makes him newsworthy. There is no way to avoid posting video of him or repeating his name in the major press. By the standards of a modern liberal democracy, we cannot but feed that particular troll to some degree.

That does not, however, mean his statements or lies should be allowed to be posted verbatim or without challenge. And certainly it does matter how he is challenged, whether by appeal to reason or emotion or whatever.

The ~30% or so of the US population that are his ardent followers are certainly a lost cause. And the ~30% or so of the US population that vehemently oppose him do not need to be told.

The others largely (the last two elections were pretty close after all) lean one way or the other but can be influenced to at least stay home or come out to vote even if they cannot be influenced to change their minds.

Donald Trump doesn’t do anything meticulously. He does everything quickly and shoddily. The problem is that much of what Trump does needs to be fixed meticulously. Trump can build two scams in the time it takes to dismantle one, so a few of them hang around for a while.

Any election fraud that Trump sets in motion will be incompetent and obvious. There would just be enough of it to still cause damage. Trump does not care.

Exactly! How are “we” supposed to ignore the leading Republican presidential candidate? Wish him away? Thoughts and prayers him away? Add him to the list of names to never be named:

  • Beetlejuice
  • Voldemort
  • Trump

I had put this in the Digital Art thread but decided it’s better off in one of the Pit threads, so I’m putting it here instead.

“Be vewy vewy quiet; I’m hunting demoncwats.”

Would that we could expand the board’s cornfield to cover the nation.
