A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 2)

The fact that no gunfight ensued will not play well with her base. I thought she believed it to be her patriotic duty to always be packin’.

The aide emphasized that Lauren Boebert denies any allegation of domestic violence on her part, and that the events as depicted in social media posts on Saturday were not accurate.

'Cause that lie worked so very well the last time you used it.

Maybe she felt she didn’t need to because she saw shooters on the menu.

This Jayson character is a real piece of work – I think we covered this story earlier:

Prior to that, he spent four days in jail for indecent exposure to a young woman at a bowling alley, and also threatened a process server when he was served with divorce papers. Lauren sure knows how to pick 'em.

The Republican Party. Where character matters.

They’re all about those family values, man.

I’ve been looking, but can anyone post a link to the full Iowa rally speech? I can almost believe that Trump just out of the blue started talking about his pants, but there just has to be some context I’m missing here. Right?

Could be either way.

In the past there are examples where he’ll run out of things to say and just start randomly talk about whatever comes to mind. It’s almost worse in context, since it will come out of nowhere and for no discernible reason.

The context is that he’s trying to be funny an relatable to normal people (and bombing) and letting them know how lucky they are that he bothered to show up.

It’s just like his other quip about being there instead of being somewhere “beautiful”. (I may be misremembering the details there.)

The context is right there. He starts talking about “people” asking him how he is able to get up every morning (“put on his pants every day”) and face the world.

I am always disappointed when his insane, wild-ass comments turn out to be only weirdly twisted and incoherent Boomer expressions.

I suspect that this is what he was trying to say but he messed up the delivery, the part in brackets was not said but probably meant to be implied.

First they say,* Sir, how do you do it? How do you wake up in the morning and put on your pants [and then go to do all the hard work to Make America Great again while being attacked from all sides]? *And I say, well, I don’t think about it too much. I don’t want to think about it because if I think about it too much maybe I won’t want to do it, but I love it because we’re going to do something for this country that’s never been done before."

“How do I do it? Depends. Then, pants.”

:notes: “Get back onto the campaign trail, with Depends!” :notes:

He probably meant to say “People come up to me and say ‘Sir, would you please put on some pants?’”.

With tears in their eyes.

I just realized this is likely why I cannot watch Barney-centric episodes of “Andy Griffith”.

For me, it’s any episode highlighting Aunt Bee (played by Frances Bavier). I couldn’t stand the characther and I was not impressed at all by the person portraying that character. How she became popular, what with her annoying voice and mannerisms, is beyod me. I honestly do not see how anyone can call what she did acting.

Thanks. You too, @The_Undeposable_Hand .

Which are averted.

This phrase makes far more sense now that we know he smells awful
