Wouldn’t be a bad idea. Caring for a pet demonstrates, well, the ability to be caring, and to do so on behalf of a creature who can do nothing for you other than bring you happiness by observing its own joy. This doesn’t happen if you don’t give a shit about anyone or anything other than yourself, and are in fact overtly hateful – i.e.- if you are Trump. Trump has said himself that he’d never have a dog, which I can support with the additional observation that he never should be allowed to do so. Trump would, however, be very good in functions that match his character, such as being the commander of a Nazi concentration camp.

This is true but I think ultimately it’s even worse than that: Trump validates their worst behaviors. As I’ve said all along, Trump is the Alpha Asshole, exhibiting every attribute of selfish, hateful, spiteful pettiness and, more importantly, getting away with it in a way that all his followers wish they could. That’s a heady, powerful attraction, and ultimately it’s this that has sucked so many into his cult.
