A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 2)

My sense is that Vance is, in essence, there to be a voice for Thiel and Libertarian techies. Trump wants him not because he likes the guy. He just wants access to the money in that realm.

Much better - thanks.

I don’t know enough about financial stuff to understand exactly what this means, but I get the feeling it pisses Trump off?

I’m not a financial expert, but my understanding is that statements of financial worth are basically a listing of all of the assets and liabilities a business or person has. They are required by many entities to get such things an insurance or loans since they tell the organization the likelihood that you are going to go belly up and whether the thing that they are insuring is really worth they amount that they are insuring it for or whether you might be just as happy to see it go up in flames.

Trump had been putting out statements of financial worth that were entirely fictitious to a fraudulent degree, partially to get good deals from financial institutions, partially to boast to places like Forbes about how rich he is. But regardless of the motivation, these are legal financial documents, and lying on them can get you in hot water, in Trump’s case to the tune of some $450 Million in fines.

So he has decided that rather than actually start telling the truth and admit that he isn’t worth nearly as much as he has been claiming he is just going to stop producing any oficial claims of financial worth and if they banks or insurance companies want to know they can just try to figure it out themselves.

This probably isn’t a bad idea on his part. He can’t be accused of fraud if he doesn’t sign any fraudulent documents that could get him in trouble, and I most of the financial entities doing business with him are probably smart enough that they wouldn’t accept anything he said at face value and so would do their own research anyway.

But for a normal business this would be highly unusual.

That, and Vance is willing to do and say anything to please his current master. Whatever it takes to earn their approval. If that doesn’t work out he looks for the next one.

As to issuing financial statements, there’s also the court-appointed monitor riding herd on his business, which would likely make it difficult if not impossible to gin up the kind of numbers he’s used to using.

He is cutting costs. I got a letter today from PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP asking for donations with a return envelope that needed a stamp.

Wouldn’t surprise me if vendors are demanding cash up front.

I can already see it. TRUMPCOIN

Donald’s not doing so good, which is great for all decent people.

That’s “Thee No America-hating fuckstick.”

Get it right.

ETA: Duh, it’s not even hockey season. Never mind!

Cool! Free Envelope!

I was bummed out that it wasn’t postage paid. I was actually going to “donate” my wisdom in a personally written note.

What does the Post Office do if there is no return address? Deliver it, and bill the recipient? Or just throw it away?

When my Mom was sliding into dementia, she mailed stuff with no postage and no return address. The P. O. opened the envelopes, looking for clues, and returned the boo-boos in an official envelope, so she could try again.

The dolphin chirping drive-by was a nice touch.

That is bloody awesome!
