I’d not heard that conspiracy theory. But I’ve been thinking for a while that Elon Musks new found Trump love is a ploy to win over a large, gullible swath of voters. When Trump is gone I can see Musk trying to become their new leader - presumably to launch a political career himself (possibly to influence the laws that affect his businesses). Trump is so deranged now that even if he does win, I can’t imagine how he’d finish his term. The 25th is highly likely.
I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in schadenfreude and couldn’t stop laughing.
I wonder what John Oliver’s current discretionary budget is…

Elon Musk “joking” with Tucker Carlson that Kamala Harris will send him to Prison if she wins. Remind me, which candidate openly speaks about silencing his critics and jailing people who get in his way? Yet more projection. I see this all over social media with people in that right wing bubble - they see the terrible things Trump is saying and doing and yet somehow they attribute it all to Democrats! I understand the anger because I feel it too, but these repeated lies in their bubble is why they live in a fantasty world!

As a Southerner who lives in WNC, I’m inclined to agree with your friend.
So when natural disasters happen to Liberal states, it’s God punishing them for being wicked. But when they happen to Conservative states, it’s just natural (or ‘They’ caused them)?
When it comes to non-politicians, I’m fine with people believing what they want to believe. Apparently some people want to believe that Melania is characterized by Decency and Honesty.
I don’t see any evidence of that. In fact I think there’s plenty of evidence of the opposite.

It’s offensive when Trumpists and fundamentalists say it about Liberal states. It’s just a taste of their own medicine. You know, and I know, God has nothing to do with it. But since they think it does when a Liberal area gets hit, turning their own words against them points to their hypocrisy.
No. When it happens to conservative states it’s because Democrats control the weather. (which does raise the question of why Democrats let it happen to liberal states, but lets not introduce any of that pesky logic stuff)
Because when it happens to Liberal states, it’s God’s punishment for their being in favour of equal rights, women’s rights, etc.
Clearly, god can override the Democrat Weather Machine in order to punish those homersextualists and cat-eating ladies. He chooses not to override it when they hit Gawd-Fearing Red States in order to motivate those Good and Perfect People to vote against the Demoncrats.
