A new article in Newsweek: Trump Wanted Cows to Climb Ladders Over Border Wall, Ex-Staffer Says (newsweek.com) talks about how Trump was furious when he learned that his border wall had doors that ranchers would use to allow their cattle access to the Rio Grande for grazing. If his wall had doors then it would allow Mexicans to storm into the country by the thousands! Trump had a much better idea - allow ranchers to use ladders, or even local fire company trucks, to allow the cattle to climb over the wall instead.
My favorite quote from the article:
" Taylor told Newsweek that ‘when it comes to Trump, the truth is always vastly more idiotic than the fiction. He spent more time coming up with imbecilic ideas at the border than he did focusing on his job. Sometimes the ideas were stupid. Sometimes they were illegal. Often they were both.’"
As my wife frequently says (quoting Hill Street Blues) “Cows have no down genes” . We discussed tthis on this Board before. It might be stupid to expect a cow to climb up a ladder, but it’s even stupider to expect themn to climb down.
That’s a perfectly rational refutation to Trump’s idea. So instead of ladders, how about we put parachutes on the cows and toss them over the wall using a catapult or Trebuchet?
I’m trying to imagine a ladder that a cow could climb, but a Mexican couldn’t.
Simple - it has a sign that says “No Mexicans allowed. Cows Only.”
Job done.
Even without access for cows, I have yet to see any sort of fence or wall that could not be easily defeated by a ladder or power tools.

I’m going to go all skeptic here and say I don’t believe this. Nobody has ever said anything like that. Nobody is that stupid, possibly not even Trump. If this had been something similarly incredible about Biden or Obama I would ask for another witness to back it up before accepting it as truth.
I just refuse to believe that I share the planet with anyone who actually said this, let alone a president. It cannot have happened.

It does cure Covid. It just has certain side effects that most would consider unacceptable, such as horrible death, but that the Stable Genius (and bovine authority) apparently does not.
In the case of Trump, what can’t be attributed to Stupidity can be attributed to callousness. Trump only cares about the ranchers votes - not the cows.
