Did he look in the bathroom?
One down
I was surprised we didn’t have a thread for that news. Trump has been complaining about weaponization of the Justice Department but forgetting that they have actual weapons. And sometimes, when someone exercises their First/Second Amendment rights they get shot by the cops. Sometimes, very rarely but still once in a while, it’s an old white guy on the receiving end.
Now I am certainly not wishing such a fate upon anyone but I am compelled to note that this example clearly shows that any given amount of “fuck around” can easily be met by an equal or greater amount of “find out”.
Twoofing one’s threats must certainly make it easier for law enforcement to find them.
Wow, the guy wasn’t even subtle about it.
“I hear Biden is coming to Utah. Digging out my old ghillie suit and cleaning the dust off the M24 sniper rifle.”
“Perhaps Utah will become famous this week as the place a sniper took out Biden the Marxist.”
FIFO indeed.
I thought of putting this in the How Has Trump Pissed You Off thread, but he’s pissing off a bunch of Republicans, not me.
NY Times (gift link): Trump Says He Won’t Sign Loyalty Pledge Required for G.O.P. Debate
“I wouldn’t sign the pledge,” he said in an interview with the conservative outlet Newsmax. “Why would I sign a pledge? There are people on there that I wouldn’t have.”
The decision would seem to rule out the possibility of him being at the debate on Aug. 23, yet he also said that he would announce next week whether he planned to take part.
Asked for comment on Thursday, the Republican National Committee, which sets the rules, referred to past interviews in which its chairwoman, Ronna McDaniel, has defended the pledge and said the committee will hold everyone to it.
“The rules aren’t changing,” she said on CNN last month. “We’ve been very vocal with them.”
Strategically, this is a fairly sound position for anyone in his position to take, but since it’s Trump, he just being a fucking asshole. As usual.
So this is schadenfreude not for Trump or his supporters, but for all the other Republicans who have to deal with having let him into their party in the first place. Boo hoo, sucks to be you.
The article goes on:
Mr. Trump’s vacillation over the pledge is not new; he objected to signing the same loyalty pledge during his first campaign eight years ago. He ultimately did, but then took it back.
That history underscores that the pledge is, in practice, unenforceable. Party leaders can refuse to let a candidate debate for not signing, but they can’t force someone who does sign to actually support another nominee next year.
Right. Trump doesn’t even want to debate. So, this is perfect for him. He can get a lot of press, trash his opponents, and stay off the stage where people will attack him (gently).
But I wouldn’t put it past him to show up anyways, get refused entry, and then post about how “the Failing GOP RINO ‘leadership’, I call it ‘leadership’ but it’s more like ‘leadershit’”, kept him off the stage because they were afraid of him and are on THE BIDEN CRIME FAMILIES payroll to run a never-Trump loser who will help the Democrat PARTY steal the election, but You can Help Trump by sending all future campaign donations to ELECT* TRUMP YEEHAW *and pay his legal bills LLC, that’ll show them!
How long before he becomes a martyr, like Ashli Babbitt?
Getting shot by the police would require him to have enough personal courage to actually stand up to the police, so never.
I’m not willing to look, but I’m sure there’s already plenty of social chatter about how Robertson was executed for exercising his First Amendment rights. “In Biden’s America, Free Speech is a Capital Offense!”
Let’s go all (psuedo)Biblical. “Let he who is without Presidential Death Threats cast the first bullet!”
I thought he had already reached Full Martyr Mode awhile ago.

Trump is met with silence from GOP audience after complaining about being the most ‘persecuted’ person in American history
Trump is right, or may soon be right.
The issue is that he mispronounced the word “prosecuted”.
“He” in my post refers to Craig Robertson, the man Akaj quoted who was shot by the FBI. I replied to his post.
I will be more careful with my antecedents in the future
Ah, my mistake, I hadn’t read through that particular bit of thread chain closely enough. Doesn’t make my reply in itself any less correct, though
Sure talked about it a lot for a guy who wasn’t thinking about it.
If the debate organizers had a spine, they’d announce that either Trump or a lifesize Trump Baby Balloon will be on stage, his choice.
Several members of the Patriot Front in Idaho were outed by a guy who infiltrated their group. As a result, they lost their jobs and were shunned by their families. They are suing the dude.
The Idaho Statesman took exception to the lawsuit.
“It’s a warped view of freedom of expression when Patriot Front members attempt to completely conceal their ownership of said expression,” the editors wrote before adding, “Hiding behind anonymity has become an all-too-common feature of white nationalist and extremist trolls who lurk in the shadows of social media, hiding behind bogus accounts and fake avatars, spewing hate, sowing division, and threatening and intimidating others. It’s that anonymity that allows their putrescent views to grow and spread like a flesh-eating bacteria — except in this case, it’s more like a brain-eating disease.”
Good for the Statesman editors.
