Seen on the internet:
Physically capable would also be acceptable.
Now that’s a wicked burn. Nicely done whoever came up with that one.
I think if I were a lawyer I would be pro Trump. He’s been great for business.
Managing to prove “the house always wins” false against impossible odds isn’t the flex she thinks it is.
And in more Trump’s amazing command of the English so-called language news, we have this gem:
Roomer are strong in political circles
It took me a moment to realize he meant rumor and not groomer.
Following the tweets (xweets? xeets?) related to the one in my post just above, I encountered these two images, a parody of indictments, this time for Trump’s crimes against the English language.
And then there’s this great one for a new definition of MAGA:
My Ass Got Arrested. Yep, that’s some quality golden humor.
The lawyers who are pro Trump are the ones not getting paid.
Regarding paragraph 5(d), as I read through it, I was sure it was going to conclude with, “He is the Most Interesting Man in the World.”
Well, he’s not really, but suddenly, I’m thirsty …
And the ones who represent the frontman of U2 are pro Bono.
I’d advertise myself as a “lawyer’s lawyer.” If so many MAGAttorneys need reps, why not go where the money is? Assuming they can pay without the Trump piggy bank.
It seems that some Trumpoltroons noticed the mural during the work-in-progress stage and saw it as a sign that popular culture was embracing the Great Pumpkinhead aa some kind of rebel folk hero. Boy, was it a letdown when the artist got to the speech bubble…
Xcretions
They’re called “tweets”.
Posts on Threads? Also called “tweets”, just like posts on Mastodon, Instagram or Truth Social. As far as I’m concerned, “tweet” now means “short post on social media.” As Twitter no longer exists, I don’t think they can have any copyright claim to the word, can they?
You can’t copyright a word.
X (formerly Twitter) could have a trademark on “tweet” and prevent other businesses from calling their short posts on social media “tweets,” but they can’t stop us ordinary folks from using the word that way.
Can they still do that, now that they’re no longer called Twitter and their posts are not longer called tweets? Can a company “sit” on a word it doesn’t use?
The general rule for trademarks is “use it or lose it.”
But, as others have said, you and I can call anything we want a tweet.
Can Threads? Can it refer to its posts as “tweets”?
I’m sure Home Depot doesn’t like being called “Home Despot”. People do it anyway.
If “Xcretions” catches on, people will use it no matter what the OED or Elon Musk say. If that happens, I shall shed not a single tear for X.
