Hahahahahah. Very good.
This is pretty amazing.
Not that it’s any kind of defense for Romney. He’s still an asshole vulture billionaire with poisonous beliefs. But the sobering truth is that most of his GOP colleagues are worse.
There’s a dedicated Romney & tell-all book thread here:
Mitt Romney as a disgruntled high school girl with a burn book is hilarious. “Mitty! How dare you!”
In other news, I now hold title to the Brooklyn Bridge and would be glad to sell it to you for a reasonable price.
Thucydides wrote the History of the Peloponnesian War and he was on the losing side. And of course Confederate apologist dominated the narrative in regards to the Civil War for many, many decades. Sometimes the losers end up writing the history.
I think that saying should be amended to “History is written by the writers”, usually the writers belong to the winning group, but not always.
Sometimes history is written by those who hold a grudge.
And/or have very, very long memories.
I don’t know why but I find that statement extremely funny. (Not because it’s wrong, though.)
I was perusing the history section of my University Library once many (very many) years ago. I found it noteworthy how many Civil War history books were written by southerners. I came to the conclusion that history is written by the survivors. And even more so by the survivors who have an axe to grind.
Yup, but often there are fewer survivors in the losing side and they are too busy surviving to write much.
History is tweeted by the whiners?
True enough, but there were a lot of survivors on the Southern side. And they are still voting for Trump.
History is written by those who care about it?
To the North, the Civil War happened, it was good that it happened, and that’s it. Move on to the next thing. To the South, though, it’s an obsession. They’re going to write history books about it because they just can’t get over it. To quote the late, great Raul Julia, “For you, the day Bison graced your village was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.” For the North, the Civil War was Tuesday.
Wow, and I thought the Daley Machine in Chicago worked the cematary vote!
Have you seen Mitch McConnell lately? I bet he and Strom Thurmond were hanging out in the rear at Bull Run.
Nitpick: ‘Cemetery’. It’s one of those things with me.
Or “sematary” if it’s for pets.
In the category of religious nutjob wacko; some just deserts. Perhaps the couple can attach any gofundme accounts or contributions to Ms. Davis.
