The smart money says Trump will threaten to withhold federal funds until the governor’s order is rescinded.
Oh, I expect the Orange Menace will withhold funds from every blue state whose governor doesn’t bend the knee to his every whim.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. As a native Southern Californian, I think California should withhold all of the funds it’s sending to red states, and keep it to rebuild after the fires… Unless the federal government honours their commitment to provide the funds. California is big enough to tell Trump to FOaDIAF.
And can provide the fire, which is only polite.
I keep hearing this proposal. Could somebody explain how this would work? Income tax withholding and tax payments go directly from taxpayers to the federal government, they do no pass Go at any state government office. Just what is California suppose to seize?
They can figure out a way. The government of California is much smarter than the Mango Mussolini. If he can do it, California can do it in spades.
