Now now, I’m certain he had history lessons. He just paid as much attention to then as he does Eric.
Oh yes, which is why it seemed to be such a diss of hubby!
OK, sorry this is going to shock you. Be brave! Be better than brave!
UK ticket sales for Melania are so far “soft”, according to Tim Richards, the chief executive of Vue, one of the country’s biggest cinema operators. Just one ticket has been sold for the first 3.10pm screening on Friday at its flagship Islington branch in London, while two have been booked for 6pm.
At the time of publication, all seats remained available for the 28 screenings of Melania at the Blackburn, Castleford and Hamilton branches.
The picture was slightly rosier at the Cineworld in Wandsworth, which had sold four tickets, while five backrow seats were also booked at the Cineworld in Broughton.
To be fair, the whole article is much more nuanced than those little quotes. If you look at it the right way, it is really not quite as baHAHAHAHAHA!
Sorry, really. Cough, cough… Completely normal, just as expected. Experts, insiders even, question “the launch strategy”, not the launch itself at all. And the situation will get much better by friday. Someone will buy some tickets. I think I even know the kind of person who will.
Possibly in bulk. I know that for decades now it’s been a common practice for right wing organizations to pump up the supposed popularity of right wing books by buying them in bulk (and dumping them unread). No reason they can’t do the same with a movie, it’s not like they’d have to watch it.
Cruel and unusual punishment. They’re good at that now. But this one crosses the line!
"I watched the Melania movie last night. About an hour into the movie something interesting happened…

A horrorshow, my droogs.
Ticket sales are soft… and Mushroom shaped
That’s from the sequel! “Stormy!” ![]()
Remember when FIFA produced a movie about how awesome and TOTALLY not corrupt they were and it grossed less than a thousand bucks in its opening weekend?
I’m getting the same vibes here.
The film was made on a budget of between $25–32 million, with the Los Angeles Times reporting an estimated budget of $29 million. Roughly £17 million (about USD$27 million; 90% of the total budget) was financed by FIFA. The film was reported to have lost around $26.8 million due to its poor theatrical returns.
In North America, the film was an instant box office bomb. It opened on Friday, 5 June 2015, and grossed a mere $319 on its opening day from 10 theatres in New York City, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Phoenix, Kansas City, Miami, Minneapolis, Houston, Dallas, and Philadelphia, followed by an even worse $288 on Saturday. For its three-day opening (Friday-to-Sunday), it grossed only $918—the worst opening of all time for a film opening in 10 to 15 theatres in U.S. box office history.
The FilmBar theatre in Downtown Phoenix reported a gross of $9, indicating that only one person bought a ticket to see the film. The film was withdrawn from cinemas by its distributor, Screen Media Films, following its appalling opening weekend performance at the box office. In North America, it ended up becoming the lowest-grossing film of all time, surpassing the previous record held by I Kissed a Vampire ($1,380) in 2012.
Huh. I Kissed a Vampire at least sounds like something RiffTrax could do something fun with.
I am somewhat tempted to send one to my London based friend one as a gag gift.
She would probably even go.
On the other hand, this is the same person who attended the first Harry Potter movie, with me, and a 750ml bottle of vodka. I can’t recall the plot of the movie, neither can she, which seems appropriate for this event.
I think it’s going to be at least a little more difficult to hide empty theater seats than it is to fake book sales.
It isn’t about filled or empty theater seats, it’s about ticket sales.
I’ll give it this much credit: it wouldn’t be the first vanity film project intended to repair or burnish a damaged public image, and it probably isn’t even the worst of them.
But it sure does take an incredible amount of arrogance to think it would appeal even to true believers. Something, something “all the people all the time” and so forth
But I can’t help imagining that somebody got a nice tax write off – maybe on purpose, a la “The Producers.”
Is it sub-titled, “The Illegal Immigrant”? Referencing her visa, actual job and qualifications.
There are other kinds?
