A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 3)

I’m confident his freedom will be purchased shortly.

These are people who have constructed whole public identities around “no one tells me what not to say” and then later just deleting, denying they said it and asking “why do you insist in bringing it up, get over it, you’re the one being divisive.”

(Come on, if you are a top official and go to Armenia you WILL be invited to pay respects at the Genocide Memorial. The comms team then has to manage things so you can respect your hosts AND appease Ankara. You have to let yourself be managed. )

They probably see that as win-win. I mean, it’s not like they consider any of them to be Proper White People.

Indeed. Lawyers, Guns and Money will be deployed soonest to get him out of this…

Press on.

Tariffs for everyone until he’s released. Another war ended. Makes at least nine or ten.

wow, I really hope that doesn’t happen. JUSTICE would be nice, whatever that looks like.

I understand Erik Prince is being held captive by a rebel group and tariffs do not work against those. I know he will not understand that, but I wanted to point that out nonetheless. It’s part of the schadenfreude.

Until a Thompson gunner finds him.

I don’t think I’d seen this anywhere else, so I’ll drop it here. The Orange Loser loses again:

The withdrawal quietly concluded last month, with no public acknowledgment from the White House or Department of Defense despite the administration’s insistence that U.S. military assets needed to be deployed on American streets to curb violent crime and support immigration enforcement.

The end of those deployments, first reported by The Washington Post, is mentioned only by the U.S. Northern Command, stating that troops sent to Chicago, Portland and Los Angeles have “completed demobilizing activities.”

That includes the withdrawal of more than 5,000 troops from California, roughly 500 troops in Chicago and another 200 in Oregon at the president’s direction. They were sent home by January 21, according to the Pentagon.

That’s what’s so weird about the Trump cult. I play around on Twitter, and there constant attacks about the Obamas. Some about how Michelle is trans, but a great many of them are still calling Obama an illegitimate president from Kenya.

I always counter by asking why Trump held a press conference and announced that Obama was born in America. I point out that there’s no answer they can give that paints Trump in a positive light.

No one has ever answered me.

They treat Trump just like they treat their Messiah; as a blank slate that supports whatever they want to believe, regardless of what that Messiah is recorded as saying. Trump can say whatever he wants and they’ll hear what they want to hear, just as the Bible can say whatever it wants and they’ll read what they want to see.

No-Bills from a grand jury are very rare (something like 1 in 10,000 cases according to this article in 2014. But in this case, they didn’t just fail to get a majority of the grand jury. They failed to get a single juror! That’s wild

Trump administration officials failed Tuesday to convince a single juror that they had met the threshold to bring charges against the Democratic lawmakers, according to two of the sources familiar with the investigation. Federal grand juries have between 16 and 23 members, with 12 needed to advance an indictment.

Sometimes I get a little ray of hope for our future as a country.

You’re assuming there are still competent comms teams around, of course.

They often have a hard time defending Trump when they’re faced with unassailable evidence he did something. They typically react in one of three ways.

  1. Fake news!
  2. What about Biden/Obama/Someone else?
  3. Ignore it.

I normally would hope that he enjoys every sandwich until then, but, fuck him!

He’s defnitely Mr. Bad Example.

I very much hope someone is adding up how much money was wasted on this and every one running against every repube everywhere repeats this number over and over and over until even the most die-hard cultist has heard it. It wasn’t just unnecessary and evil it was a huge waste of money.

My hometown is making me proud.

It brings up the question: if you’re a DOJ lawyer when Trump is elected, do you stay on and try to fight, or leave in protest?
