A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 3)

As a person who is currently collecting Social Security, I find myself wondering if that fact should make me feel guilty.

I just read that too but I’m a bit confused…will benifits be cut for people already getting retirement benefits?

My reading of that article is that this 22% cut will occur in 2032, unless Congress does something about it before then.

Thanks for the correction.

Yes. And this has been coming for a while - it’s just that recent policies are making it worse. Congress, as per usual, would prefer to kick the can down the road until the crisis smacks them in the face.

One immediate thing they can do is raise or eliminate the taxable income cap:

The taxes are applied up to only $184,500 in income, and rising income inequality means a greater share of Americans’ earnings exceeds that cap and is not taxed.

Simply put, we need more from payroll taxes to make up the deficit.

Q. What do Riley Gaines and Nancy Mace have in common?

A. They’re both transphobic women who came in fifth.

Her takeaway that she lost because she wanted the Epstein Files released is certainly… something.

I guess giving Trump that fake peace prize didn’t buy FIFA any extra goodwill as far as immigration is concerned. I feel bad for the athletes.

How is that wrong? She’s a garbage person, but that’s not why she lost (if anything, it’s an advantage) - she lost because the Trump machine turned on her.

Seattle’s famed alt-weekly the Stranger has a new “guest editor” for their Pride Month issue.

News Editor Vivian McCall’s column on the “safe” performance of anilingus did not make sense to me because I do not have an anus. Undermining the authority of the federal government, Deputy News Editor Nathalie Graham told readers how to “safely” take the dangerous illicit drugs trafficked into our country. I know drug enforcement. When I was Governor of South Dakota, we were on meth!

I was tickled that Stranger contributor Kate Burns wrote about some Christian Nationalists I was familiar with. A few nice young men are consolidating power in your Godless city. You should be thankful.

Clearly, you’re not. Editor-in-Chief Hannah Murphy Winter’s story blames innocent Christians, savaged by homosexuals, for calling on the police for help! Then goes after the police for not knowing that Capitol Hill is a gay neighborhood. Do we have to ask neighborhoods for their pronouns now?

If you have pronouns—I do not—you can find a comprehensive list of “accessible,” “fun” events for your “pride” month.

Ok. I ..er… what ?

I kinda think maybe Kristi Noem didn’t really write most of that.

That explains why she is so full of shit, I guess.

A very funny and accurate impersonation, if you ask me.

Poe’s Law is in effect here. It so could be actual.

It looks like “Big Uppies” Greg Bovino is following in Trump’s footsteps as far as only hiring the best for his Presidential campaign in Jacob Engel’s. I’m mildly curious what “double-jointed pussy.” might mean.

Band Name!

Someone’s cat is unusually flexible? How could anyone tell?

But if it’s so edgelord who cares what it means amirite?

They become a tessercat.

Even Babylon Bee is dunking on Trump.

Jared and Ivanka’s purchase of the Albanian island has been mentioned in other threads, including that ridiculous podcast interview she gave in which she talked about how wonderful and life-affirming it was to buy a private island, as if everybody should do it in the course of their own “tangible manifestation” of their life journey, in classic ‘let them eat cake’ fashion.

So it gave me a little shadenfreude hit to see this:

I get the occasional link to Babylon Bee articles in my FB feed. I can’t figure that site out-- is it just simply a right-wing ‘The Onion’? Because most of the time that’s what it seems to be, but then other times, as in that article, it seems to take on a subversive meta-ironic quality similar to the ‘Colbert Report’ in which Stephen Colbert brilliantly walked a fine line pretending to be a right-wing blowhard while cleverly skewering the right.
