A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 3)

That’s because this “idea” is very deliberate. It’s how he’s going to try to turn the election. He knows perfectly well the election isn’t rigged, but if he gets enough people to back him on it, he can use it to try and justify doing whatever he wants to do to step in. So the more places that call him a liar, the better.

Today’s Washington Post had the headline

Trump walks out of ‘Meet the Press’ interview when challenged over false claims

which I though was pretty good.

I still love this picture.

What a shot. Is that from the Knicks game?

Trump was soundly booed at the Knicks game. Coincidentally, the Knicks lost, which ended their near record 13 game playoff win streak.

From the article:

Asked later by a reporter what he thought of the reception he got from Knicks fans, Trump said, “I thought great. I mean, I thought it was amazing, actually. You mean when they have the camera on me?”

“I thought it was very good, yeah. It was certainly amazing,” he said.

“It was mostly cheers. It was loud, and it was very enthusiastic,” the president said.

Clearly the man is not cognizant of anything that is going on around him. If his staff and cabinet had any sense of decency and less interest in grasping power and raking in cash they’d have him sequestered upstairs in the White House, passing time selecting paint and carpet colors for his Presidential library.

Unfortunately, no. It’s from some event last year

Maybe. Or maybe he’s spinning it for the reporter. He will never admit publicly that he’s not beloved.

Two out of three ain’t bad. The crowd was certainly loud and enthusiastic in their booing.

If you are referring to the footage of him saluting in a luxury glass booth with many of his junk drawer idiots behind him, no we watched it live last night. The venue tried to prevent the boos by showing his ugly mug during the National Anthem. It didn’t work. The New Yorkers booed until they moved the camera away from him. The shot of his idiocy lasted about 15 seconds? at a guess. New York hates his orange worthless ass.

I was referring to the picture I posted above of Trump behind a window with someone facing him, giving him dual middle fingers. Post #3921.

Yeah, that’s from an NFL game last season (Washington, IIRC?), where the fans were irate, yelling profanities, and flipping him off.

He was also booed at a college football game in Alabama a while back, which is about as friendly a venue as he could expect.

OK, I didn’t find it, and everyone seemed to be discussing the bball game. My apologies.

I heard on NPR that Social Security benefits will have to be cut by 22%, in about a year, thanks to three things, two of them entirely the fault of Republicans: 1. Reduced immigration; 2. Tax cuts mainly on the rich. (The third one, of course, is the continued, inevitable decline in fertility rates).
Congress will probably find some way to avoid (i.e., postpone) this…but something will have to be sacrificed.
This should be a big talking point for Democratic candidates.

Lift the salary cap.

Works for me – and many Democrats support this. Raising the retirement age is another possibility, but that’s apparently even less politically palatable.

Nah, the Republicans will argue that in order to save Social Security, they need to cut it, which makes as much sense as it sounds.

They’ll argue they need to raise the retirement age (on younger folks only, of course, gotta think of the voters), reduce benefits (again, only on future retirees), change the way inflation is calculated, etc.

I do hope Democrats take advantage of it but it’s one talking point out of a million, albeit an important one for a lot of people. It may get lost in the noise with all the other things going on.

Which is fine for non-physical labor jobs, but a solid percentage of retirees are in jobs that they probably can’t do after age 65 (or even 55).

True.
I think welcoming more immigrants would be the best way (of course, it will require several approaches)…but we’re not in this thread to discuss this, just to enjoy MAGA pain of cognitive dissonance.

We had to destroy the village in order to save it.

It’s not a new concept.

Actually, turning a blind eye to more illegal immigrants would be even better (as far as Social Security coffers are concerned). Employed illegal immigrants pay into SS but can’t collect it.
