Ha! you’re right, I’m the one confused it seems, so much for my blistering critique.
Yet another nitpick, 8601 date format uses hyphens, not slashes in between the YYYY-MM-DD parts. Slashes can appear elsewhere, but not there. I am a fan of true 8601, and thus must oppose Frodo’s rise to power to prevent this corruption of the OTDS (One True Date Standard).
Has Cosmos never been dubbed into Spanish?
My benign dictatorship would allow people to freely choose whether to use hyphens or slashes.
Any other symbol of course would mean torture and execution.
You cannot beat DD.MM.YYYY!
It’s the only logical way.
It doesn’t get ordered chronologically and alphabetically with the same algorithm!
Guards! seize him!
I’m a hyphenator.
Probably because I’m an IT guy, and I can’t use slashes in the names of files or HTML pages. I just got used to dashes when I have to put a date in a file name for whatever reason.
My chaotic despotism: YDY-MYM/YYD.
Yeah hyphens are obviously superior, but slashes are easily manageable string.replace("\","-")
Guards! where did we put that Sarlacc?
You know what benign can do?
This benign comment started this whole hijack.
May be the mod’s jackbooted benign dictatorship will put the thread back in track, but I think it’s a lost cause.
Besides, separator characters are superfluous. YYYYMMDD
Don’t you have to sign up on some special registry or something for that?
Probably, but every time the authorities come after me, I dash.
(I can see my own way out.)
Tilde catch up to you…
The Hyphenator… coming to a theater near you.
A hyphen (U+2010) or a hyphen-minus (U+002D)? We need to know which we can use!

They might drive a fast vehicle, but minus faster!
