In 2010 long before anybody had heard of Trump in politics we here in Arizona had Sheriff Joe “Nickel-bag” Arpaio and SB1070 that allowed local police to arrest people if they had “reasonable suspicion” that they were in the country illegally. At the time the two afternoon-drive guys, although not focused exclusively on politics, did talk about it some and would have guests and candidates on for interviews.
One was libertarian, on the anarcho-capitalist (Republican-lite) side and the other was straight-up conservative. The latter kept saying, “I am neither conservative nor liberal – I am a skeptic,” but complained a lot more about Democratic perfidy than Republican. He straight-up mentioned he thought SB1070 was a good idea.
One afternoon he spent twenty minutes literally crying on-air about his Mexican girlfriend who’d been detained at a traffic stop, handed over to ICE, and deported. I felt sorry for the girl but found it real hard to muster up any sympathy for him.
Donald Trump was spotted golfing at Bedminster this weekend flanked by an AN/TWQ-1 Avenger short-range air defense system, an unusual sight alongside the president’s golf course.
The added security comes after F-16 fighter jets intercepted non-threatening civilian aircraft that violated the temporary no-fly zone around Bedminster yesterday.
Trump kept golfing as the air defense system stood nearby.
After Bowling Alone, the next American social drama for the whole childless single dad family: Golfing Behind Barbed Wire.
I don’t know what that
(I’ll take your word for that, sounds impressive) is there for, but my impression is that if you can take a picture of someone, a good sniper can shoot him. I am not sure the
is the right priority. Not that I really care, to be honest, but it feels like security compliance theater to me. But if it keeps him happy… I wonder whether the
(I’m starting to like this, it rolls so nicely off the tongue) is even loaded.
Under the rug or a festering boil, ready to burst open eventually? At least a bill was passed, even if the executive branch is thumbing its nose at it so far.
So there’s an apparently credible threat if Trump plays golf and it makes more sense to move anti-aircraft weapons to the first tee than it does to just not fucking play golf.
Yes, they absolutely would. They have vowed revenge against him a number of times, including for the assassination of their general, Qasem Soleimani, in 2020, and for the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at the start of this war. Israel recently informed the U.S. that they have discovered a new Iranian assassination plot against Trump.
And we believe Netanyahu because? I don’t doubt that the Iranian’s want Trump dead, but Bibi’s government probably doesn’t want a peace yet, and Trump is so easily manipulated.
