This is some bitter karma. Setting aside the idiocy of believing anything Trump said in 2024, the GOP have been openly gunning for the LGBTQ+ community since forever.
She may not have voted for the murder of her daughter but she certainly voted for her persecution.

Of course, even if it were totes cool and legal to ban CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from covering the White House, that would only apply to the White House. Trump’s little fit of pique doesn’t require all other locations to honor his stupidity and protect his glass-frail ego.
But that’s exactly what he seems to think should happen. He seems entirely mystified and enraged that CNN would be there via a credential issued by the UN. Yes, Donald, the UN is an entirely separate body that is in no way obligated to honor your ban and is able to issue whatever press credentials it wants to whoever it wants. Do try to keep up.

James McCrery II, the first architect assigned to work on Donald Trump’s White House ballroom, resigned last year after the president consistently ignored his warnings that the preliminary design he favored ran afoul of fire and safety codes, according to The Washington Post.
Trump seemed uninterested in McCrery’s advice, reportedly claiming building codes did not apply to White House construction.
“I am the code,” the president said, according to the Post.
Not that I’d expect it to happen* but I really hope whatever journalists get hired for Trump TV also refuse to cover him out of solidarity.
*I wouldn’t have expected Fox News to walk out either, but here we are. And, regarding Fox News walking out, I’m curious if they’re doing it out of some sort of journalistic integrity or because someone realized that if Trump is allowed to pick and choose who can be there, a future (or even current, I suppose) president might toss them out some day.
I think self-interest is part of it for all media outlets refusing to cover the White House. Fox in particular should know by now Trump is not their friend. No matter how hard they kiss his ass he rips into them whenever they say something he doesn’t like.
There’s also all those pesky lawsuits they get hit with. They have to put on a, if not credible, then at least not explicitly biased mask of journalistic integrity
Now there’s a fantasy. A fire mysteriously breaks out and a thousand administration staffers, tech-bros, and assorted MAGAts can’t escape because the exits are jammed.

That “you SAID you weren’t going to cover me” seems to indicate a belief by Trump that Collins and/or CNN had Taken A Pledge not to cover him (and now they’ve broken that pledge!!!1!!!)

On the schadenfreude side: Congressional Republicans who need votes in November seem to be running away from this ‘Donald Discards the First Amendment’ issue just as fast as they’re running away from everything else about him.
