Get the Herman Cain Award ready, we have a winner!
Oof. Now that is schadenfreudelicious!
I have the Darwin Awards Committee on Line 2.
That was two years ago.
Yeah, but I’m full of schaudenfreude now.
Looks like he never reproduced, so he would be technically eligible.
Wondering how the bovine (equine?) fucking idiot Sarah Huckerbee is processing all of this.
AP speculates that the DOGE days (and Elon’s) may be numbered.
So purge the purger once he’s become tainted. But then the process repeats. Yagoda, Yezhov, (almost) Beria….
(Which begs the comparison between Musk’s tech-bro henchmen and Vasili Tech-Blokhin
I read today that this is the “reason” why tesla shares are up 5.4% so far today. That, crazy as it is, relativises the schadenfreude for me, to be honest.
It’s certainly Trump’s pattern; Trump always turns on people close to him sooner or later. The weird thing is how there’s never a shortage of people willing to step up as replacements and get screwed over by him in turn. Over and over.
“Surely the leopards would never eat MY face!”
OK this is pretty minor Schadenfreude, but in times like these you take what you can get.
Trump pardoned Eric Adams with the understanding that Adams would help him implement his disappearing immigration policy. They had hoped to keep him in line by threatening to indict him again and send him to jail if he didn’t follow through. But it turns out that pardons don’t work like that, particularly when a judge sees through your transparent quid pro quo bribe. Once he’s pardoned you can’t undo it and go after him again. For once Trump wrote the check before the work was done, and he’s the one who may be getting stiffed.
Everything is blowing up in Elon Musk’s face
So yeah, everyone knows that Leon Skum has lost about a quarter of his net worth, he’s lost $20 million (or whatever) trying to get a pro-Trump judge elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Tesla sales keep falling while China’s BYD electric car maker saw a surge in sales of 60%, and he appears to be on the outs with His Nibs.
But I do like this paragraph from the article.
It was never clear how Musk planned to replace those customers with folks from red states who have long resisted EV adoption. So far, various attempts to stem the bleeding have only made things worse.
OK, that particular quote isn’t Schadenfreude. It’s more ‘stupid motherhumper’ material. I mean, Teslas were popular with coastal Lefties, and hated by Trump’s coal-rolling base. It’s pretty stupid to expect Red State trailer-dwellers to go out and buy a new $40,000 or $60,000 electric car. I’m posting the link in this thread in this thread though, because of everything ‘blowing up in his face’. I get some Schadenfreude out of that.
Yeah, my MAGA uncle gave us an anti-electric car rant last year right before Musk got so cozy with Trump. I can’t imagine he scraped up the funds to get even a sedan, much less a refriga-Lorean.
One of my MAGA neighbors went on an anti-EV tirade on FB a couple of years ago, I pointed out some wrong things, and she kind of exploded at me. She ain’t ever buying a Tesla, even with the kinds of whipsawing these people are capable of.
Reason #99 I’m glad to be off FB.
I believe the correct term is “Incel Camino”.
Exactly. Buying a Tesla isn’t like paying $5 for a Chick-fil-A sandwich to own the libs or even a couple of hundred bucks for some Jason Aldean concert tickets or merchandise. A new car is a major purchase of the sort that most people (even those who are comfortably middle class) make only once or twice a decade, if that (prior to purchasing my current car, it had been more than 20 years since I had last bought a new vehicle). Very few Trump supporters, or anyone really, can afford to drop 60K just to make a statement.
And it doesn’t help that many conservatives have been conditioned to despise electric vehicles, due in no small part to Trump and other like-minded chuds having spent years demonizing such cars. Given the choice between buying a big-ass coal rolling pick-up or a fucking Tesla, I honestly have a hard time seeing even the most faithful of MAGAs forgoing the coal-roller just to throw Elon a bone.
