I’m torn about it, but I’d rather have seen Musk giving Trump a black eye. Or maybe better both to each other, but I doubt Trump could even give a 5 year old a black eye, although I’m sure he would enjoy it.
The Musk / Bessent confrontation happened in April, so I dint think that’s how Musk got his current black eye.
My money is on Steven Miller, because his wife Katie ( who is just as odious as her husband ) quit her White House job to go with Musk to Texas - where she will be working for him in some unspecified capacity - I’m thinking his white supremacy breeding operation needs an Aunt Lydia.
Some less reputable internet sources hint at a sexual component to the relationship between the Millers and Musk, although the details and combinations vary. I recommend not thinking about this.
I remember that article!
“Not since the Three Stooges visited in 1942 have Londoners been witness to anything as hilarious as the recent fistfight between…”

Yeah, the snerk on the internet is saying that Miller’s wife isn’t going to be working for Musk but under him.

I recommend not thinking about this.
Why couldn’t you have said that first???

My money is on Steven Miller
I doubt that Stephen Miller has the nerve to go mano-a-mano with anyone (even a pencil-necked geek like Elon).
Back in April?
Oh.
It would be sweet if someone got a video of it and leaked it to the Internet.
I’m sure as soon as anyone got it on their phone they would’ve been, like, detained, or something.

I doubt that Stephen Miller has the nerve to go mano-a-mano with anyone (even a pencil-necked geek like Elon).
The rumor mill suggests it may have been mano-a-mano-a-womano at some point.
Pass the brain bleach.

Trump turns on the Federalist Society.
Inside the split between MAGA and the Federalist Society - POLITICO
The Federalist Society was the force behind Trump’s third of the Supreme Court. Now, MAGA wants to see the group’s demise.
Late Thursday evening, Trump attacked the conservative legal giant and Federalist Society’s former executive vice president Leonard Leo — a key figure in his judicial selections during his first term — calling him a “real ‘sleazebag’” in a Truth Social post. “I am so disappointed in The Federalist Society because of the bad advice they gave me on numerous Judicial Nominations,” he wrote.
It was a remarkable souring on the nonprofit that supported Trump’s push to install hundreds of judges across the federal judiciary and tilt courts in conservatives’ favor.

Trump turns on the Federalist Society.
Is it possible that Trump realizes that he was used, and that the Federalist Society suggested judges who were supportive of their agenda, and not just Trump toadies?
Naaaaaaaah.

Is it possible that Trump realizes that he was used, and that the Federalist Society suggested judges who were supportive of their agenda, and not just Trump toadies?
So the best businessman and master negotiator got played for a chump?

So the best businessman and master negotiator got played for a chump?
You mean ‘yet again’?

Is it possible that Trump realizes that he was used, and that the Federalist Society suggested judges who were supportive of their agenda, and not just Trump toadies?
He’s probably just mad he didn’t get any bribes out of it.
More that trump is angry that the Fed Society picks aren’t acting as 100% rubber stamps for his aganda. They still, nominally, try to follow the law.

So the best businessman and master negotiator got played for a chump?
I wouldn’t say “chump” so much as, he realized he needs to care about this, for his own selfish reasons.
I’ve said for a while now that Trump’s current administration is split between several different factions, who are content to let the other factions just do their thing, so long as there’s no direct conflicts between their particular individual goals. Like Trump really wants to impose tariffs, and brutalize immigrants, so the Project 2025 guys are happy to let him do that, so long as they can dismantle as much of the current US government as possible.
This effect also existed in Trump 1.0. Trump didn’t care (at the time) about the judges. He made mouth noises about it, but since he didn’t care, he was happy to just rubberstamp the options given to him by this group, while he got on with trying to build the Wall.
But now, Trump does care. In the last four years, he’s realized he needs judges on his side, who will corruptly rule in his favor, regardless of the merits of his case. And he’s discovering that a lot of those judges he rubberstamped aren’t those people. So now he’s Big Mad, because he’s discovered this conflict of interest far too late, and he’s stuck with the mess.
