Yeah, maybe Trump should have done his own homework when selecting judges. But when has Trump ever done his own homework?
Also, isn’t Leonard Leo involved in that anti-tariff lawsuit with the Koch brother? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Obviously, so then he asks smart people to tell him what to do and… Oh, that’s exactly what he did.
Got played for a trump, is what we should say from now on.
Is it schadenfreude , a clusterfuck, or face eating leopards
With that and trumps criticism of his own Supreme Court picks, it is nice to see this clusterfuck of face eating
I’m not sure that Trump or anyone else could have “done their homework” to get the sort of judges that Trump wanted at the time. He needed to identify judges who were more loyal to MAGA than they were to the rule of law, but at the time MAGA wasn’t really a thing, with maybe a couple of exceptions like Roy Moore, weren’t really any judges advertising their willingness to ignore the consitution. So the best you could do is go for the most right wing judges you could find i.e. the federalist list.
Now that MAGA is a recognized political philosphy its easier to find judges who will come out and directly support it in hopes of career advancement and the occasional luxury motor coach.
Hah. Elon calls the bill a “disgusting abomination”. Wonder which drugs he was on when he made that remark?
It’s about the only coherent sensible thing he has said for a long long while, so maybe he is drying out for a day?
My vote is clusterfuck. Face leopards requires an individual who supported right wing candidates being directly harmed by right wing policies being applied to them (e.g. Trump voters getting deported). Schadenfreude also requires harm of a right wing individual, but not as a result of the application of right wing policies to them (e.g. Jan 6th arrests). The feud between Trump and Musk doesn’t any direct harm to any individual but is just an example of chaos and infighting of the administration, ergo iconic clusterfuck.
It’s just two rats in a box trying to rip each other’s faces off.
Coherent and sensible, in its way, but it’s a sign of muddled thinking that Musk is surprised by this. Republicans have been increasing the deficit since he was 8 years old, I don’t know why he thought they’d stop now.
Yup. Other than GHWB, once, it’s what they do.
In today’s Last Word O’Donnell talks about Musk’s calling the Big Beautiful bill a “disgusting abomination” and “I just can’t stand it anymore” after getting fired by Trump. Taking Maxim 29 (The enemy of my enemy is my enemy’s enemy. No more. No less.) he doesn’t give Elmo much of a pass, saying he’s come to Jesus five years too late (J6) or is disgusted by the fact that his own DOGE has killed a couple hundred thousand kids by taking away their food.
No, what disgusted him was the big, beautiful, pork-filled bill that tremendously increases the national debt, apparently unaware that every single Republican administration since WWII has done exactly that. The schadenfreude part is that Elmo is now saying come November next year, “we fire all the politicians who betrayed the American people.” Since I believe he’s not talking about Democrats Republican legislators up for election are between a rock and a hard place for their primaries. Do they seek an endorsement – and no money – by kissing Trump’s ass or do they take money from the world’s richest fuckstick? Whichever path they decide to take they’re gonna get primaried by the other faction.
And the rest of us can sit back with our popcorn and laugh.

Or not…part of the issue the Right has with reliability is that an ideology of absolute selfishness doesn’t really lend itself to loyalty. They tend to be reliable on the attack since malice is the core right wing value, but when it comes to supporting something it’s up in the air if they’ll stay bought or do something else they consider more profitable or hateful than what they were expected to do.
It’s an ouroboros turducken of politics! A schadenclustard, if you will.
It’s about time, what with how often he’s hung our country out to dry while he was a “special government employee”.
You have a magnificent turn of phrase there.
So Elon, you can’t figure out why people are dropping Tesla like a bag of dirt.
The environmentally friendly company that you left to go help a man that want’s to destroy the environment and the economy. The company you left to fire thousands of workers that you don’t even know what they do. The company you left to take money away from starving children.
You can’t figure out why people are a bit upset at you? Bullshit.
It’s standard procedure for boards to take companies away from the entrepreneurs who started from them. As far back as the Thai cave rescue, I’ve been wondering why this hasn’t happened yet to Musk. It’s a different world now, I suppose, and demonstrably not a better one.
Thanks! And remember the last syllable, fittingly, rhymes with turd.

As a side note, it has always pissed me off that Democrats for the last 20-30 years have let the Republicans freely tag them as “Tax and Spend Liberals”. How hard is it to make the point to voters that taxes are how you cover your spending? “Tax and Spend” is how you’re supposed to do it! “Tax Cut and Spend” is what drives up the deficit. But Democrats suck at messaging then can’t figure out why they keep losing elections.
In politics, the less you plan to do about something, the more you must talk about it. That explains Republicans and deficits for the last few decades.
