Tariffs and the electric vehicle tax credit which was ended by the big ugly bill apparently has Telsa senior staff worried.
Earlier this month, the House passed the final version of the bill, which extends the president’s 2017 tax cuts and makes key changes to the tax system. The law also ends the $7,500 EV tax credit awarded to buyers on September 30, which analysts saw as a win for smaller rivals such as Lucid and Rivian, who are less dependent on the credit.
The Tesla CFO said that the company would start “paring” back planned incentives as cars start to sell.
After the tax law was passed, Tesla began offering perks such as free supercharging on select models, a one-month free trial of Full Self‑Driving, and a $1,000 discount for “American heroes” like military members, teachers, and first responders.
CEO Elon Musk said Tesla is in a “weird transition period” as it navigates the expiration of incentives and the wider regulatory environment for autonomous vehicles.
The Trump administration’s tariffs are also raising costs for the automaker, the CFO said.
There’s that wannabe mob boss mentality again: everything is an accident.
Occupy Democrats is the bane of my Facebook feed, and I really wish my friends would stop posting their nonsense. If their - ahem - reporting got any more breathless they’d be in a vacuum.
If it’s been posted on these boards, I haven’t seen it, but South Park absolutely slammed Trump for last night’s season premier. It’s all over the web today.
The AI generated live video of Trump wandering naked through the desert, his micro penis announcing his name, was an especially nice lowbrow touch.
After reading the comments in that rawstory link, it turns out the judge is a black gay man. Is there a word for a combination of Shadenfreude AND Karma?
I’m fine with the animation. South Park occasionally does cool things, and have made me laugh at things I have no business laughing at (like the parody of The Accused where George Lucas and Steven Spielberg rape Indiana Jones.)
I’m not fine with naked AI generated Trump, I mean for obvious reasons, but I would be furious if this happened to a layperson as some sort of revenge-porn adjacent thing. In this case, though, I’m really struggling to muster outrage. I mean really struggling. But maybe it leads to Trump cracking down on this sort of thing more globally which I would support.
But in our current situation, I think what those guys did was brave as hell.
Well, it’s something Trump is sensitive about and probably explains some of the psychological problems he has. His niece is a clinical psychologist and has said many times how Trump suffers from deep-seated feelings of inadequacy and a lot of his bullying and bluster stems from that.
“Every time you hear Donald talking about how something is the greatest, the best, the biggest, the most tremendous (the implication being that he made them so), you have to remember that the man speaking is still, in essential ways, the same little boy who is desperately worried that he, like his older brother, is inadequate and that he, too, will be destroyed for his inadequacy. At a very deep level, his bragging and false bravado are not directed at the audience in front of him but at his audience of one: his long-dead father …
