A Perfectly Reasonable Amount of Schadenfreude about Things Happening to Trump & His Enablers (Part 3)

50 PSAs? Funny, Parker and Stone just signed a $1.5 billion deal with Paramount to produce 50 more South Park episodes. Coincidence…

In other schadenfreude news, trump’s approval rating has now dropped to an all-time low…37%, according to MSNBC, at least…

I think this falls into “He had it comin’” territory. If I were at a bar, and someone started beating up a person for no reason, I’d be outraged, and try to stop it. But if the same person was getting beat up because they’d done something terrible, I’d be like, “Well, you had it comin’”.

We live in a society, and sometimes that society decides you’ve got it comin. I’m not going to bend myself into weird shapes trying to parse it all.

If Trump gets to be an exception for avoiding consequences for his actions, let him also be an exception for suffering consequences for his actions.

Say it’s not okay for this sort of thing to happen to a person because of the precedent it sets, unless it’s Trump. Because he’s unprecedented. Now there is no moral quandary.

I’ve always been told that public figures are fair game.

ETA: Either I never heard, or else I never paid attention to, the pronunciation of Ghislaine Maxwell’s name. I heard it several times on NPR on Tuesday, and they were pronouncing it ‘Gill-en’. I’ve always read it as ‘Jizz-lane’.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she had been called that at some of Epstein’s parties.

And Maxwell being interviewed by the DOJ sounds investigative and maybe good, until you realize it’s Todd Blanche conducting the interview.
Whatever this is, it can only benefit Trump.

Question ( and I don’t know if this as a hijack that would be allowed here ) :

Do you think that Rump or ( any of ) his many Cronies / Minions will ever face true justice for the war crimes, the crimes against Humanity, the Treason, the crimes against the Constitution and, other crimes against the American people as well as the peoples of many other countries?

.

“What’s he saying? Ah… Ah…just don’t understand him.”

.

Will MAGA ever face justice…?

Not the top dog.

The problem with this question is that there is no real definition of “true justice”. Whatever you think is proper justice is subjective and will vary depending on your perspective and philosophy.

I think some will (and have) faced what I’d considered proper consequences. Not nearly enough. Certainly some will not. There is no way that Trump himself will truly pay in a way that even an objective reading of the law itself says he should pay, because he has already skated multiple times and can’t be retried. I don’t even think he’ll live long enough to truly face proper justice even if by some miracle everything stuck from here on out.

I believe that the legacy of what is happening now will be a dark mark in history. I don’t want to Godwinize anything here, but look at Nazi Germany. Many people who should have faced justice never did. They now serve as a history lesson, a warning of what people are capable of. Similarly, I expect in time that this will serve as a lesson of what Americans are capable of, and might hopefully shape policy years from now where we try to repair vulnerabilities that have been exposed in this past decade of MAGA. There is also a very difficult (maybe not even fully possible) task of trying to repair the country’s reputation on the world stage, which hopefully can be improved even if other nations will never trust the country as much as they once did.

I do know that this is somewhat optimistic, but I always try to be.

She’s going to say that Jeffrey told her multiple times that the one person who should never, ever find out about their activities is Donald J. Trump, who is the most law-and-order man in history and would report them to authorities immediately if he found out. Total exoneration!

Will it be Pardon or Suicide, in two weeks?

You mean pardon?

… is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I’ve ever known in my life.

No. All hope was lost when Trump won the 2024 election.

No; shielding people like them from consequences is a core feature of our culture. We’d destroy civilization before we let that happen. They are gods who must be submitted to regardless of the cost or consequences, as far as America is concerned.

A pardon, and then a nice yacht voyage.

Hopefully on her father’s old yacht. Here’s hoping she also inherited his talent at swimming.

The only way this happens is if Trump loses power. And if he sees that coming, he’ll pardon everyone he can on his way out the door.

So, unless the American people are willing to say, “Okay, fuck that ‘pardon’ shit, we’re holding them accountable anyways!”, then no, they never will.

I didn’t realise she was Robert’s daughter. What a lovely family.

Not only that, but the yacht Maxwell père fell/was pushed off of was named the Lady Ghislaine, after his daughter. It’s now owned by Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife.
