Donald Trump, from inside the White House, has pushed a new crypto investment. This time, it’s dressed up as a “crypto treasury” firm. But just like the last two times, his base is paying the price.
The setup is simple: Trump cashes out early. Everyone else eats the loss. According to The Wall Street Journal, the strategy looks eerily familiar to anyone who’s watched his past financial ventures blow up in supporters’ faces.
The playbook hasn’t changed.
You’d think people would have caught on by now. This has been how Trump has cheated people for decades. He gets people to invest in his ideas and then cashes out early, leaving the investors holding the (empty) bag. Decades, folks! Get smart!

A county in North Carolina where nearly 70% of voters favored President Donald Trump in 2024 is facing an exodus of educators following budget cuts to the Department of Education, cuts that have left some residents feeling betrayed.
Another Montgomery County educator, Rhonda Perkins, who voted for Trump, defended her support for the president to The Washington Post, while at the same time, criticizing him for some of his policies.
“I think he’s awful, but he protected my values,” Perkins said.

It really is becoming the standard, and while a rug pull can lead to fraud charges and SEC violations, it seems like most people get away with it in the unregulated marketplace. So of course Trump’s going to jump on the bandwagon. This kind of scheme is totally in his wheelhouse. It’s just a modern, electronic version of the same shit he’s been doing for most of his life.
