Joseph Schnitt, an Acting Deputy Chief in the Department of Justice, was caught divulging the information by a woman he met on the Hinge dating app, not realizing she was an undercover operative for the O’Keefe Media Group.
In a video posted online on Thursday, Schnitt is recorded telling the woman that the department would “redact every Republican or conservative person in those files, leave all the liberal, Democratic people in those files, and have a very slanted version of it come out.”
I have a differing view on Trump’s likelihood of getting into Heaven (pretty high!), but since it involves a rather radical and upsetting re-interpretation of the origins of Christianity, I’ll just leave it for the PM’s in case anyone cares.

The most damaging part of this is an admission that the Epstein Files are being redacted to make Republicans look good and Democrats look bad (or at least there’s an effort to do so). Even MAGA won’t like that.

Why would O’Keefe make this public? Doesn’t he support Trump?
Maybe O’Keefe has reached his limit in regards to Trump? Though given what we know about Trump’s character, why now? Perhaps he sees something bad on the horizon for Trump/MAGA and wants to be the first one off the sinking ship.

O’Keefe was fired by Project Veritas (which he founded) in 2023, reportedly because he treated staff there like shit and misappropriated funds (basically spent organizational money on himself). He formed a new organization, the O’Keefe Media Group, and then was sued by Project Veritas (because part of the money he stole was used to help start the new group while he was still working for the old one, also he went after PV donors to help fund the new one before being fired).
I wonder if the split from the old group also meant a focus away from being a Trump supporter. The only other “operation” I’ve seen his new group do was targeting the Washington Commanders football team, and media he published ended with the team firing one of their VPs. There doesn’t seem to be a lot going on that’s trying to favor the Republican agenda or Trump in particular.
I’m not sure how much of an ideologue O’Keefe ever was anyway. I always got the impression that he was an opportunist who wanted money and fame, and found success with right wing causes, but despite the fact that he’s been called a “political activist” in the past, I think it was always a means to an end.
