Or is this a plot to make him not attend or give him a reason to, despite him being a stage hog? So the Super Bowl would be spared him intruding into the celebrations after the game (like he did in the football thing with Mafiantino), or the sound having to be muted when he is boo’ed (like in the tennis final).
If so, good idea and worth the try.
Not to mention, the cost of the tickets ensures that the vast majority of the audience will be relatively rich people, and we know ICE and MAGA don’t mess with wealth.

The withdrawal comes after CNN’s KFile reported earlier this month that Antoni operated a since-deleted Twitter account that featured sexually degrading attacks on Kamala Harris, derogatory remarks about gay people, conspiracy theories, and crude insults aimed at critics of Trump

Sounds like he’d be perfectly qualfied for the job. Did somebody put pressure on Trump, or otherwise convince him that his choice might not be the best?

Trump hand-picked E.J. Antoni last month after FIRING Erika McEntarfer simply because she dared release accurate economic data that didn’t fit his propaganda. That’s right — he tried to replace a respected professional with a MAGA loyalist who has ZERO qualifications for the job.
Almost immediately, Antoni’s nomination was hit with a firestorm of backlash over his lack of experience and blatant partisanship. Even more galling was the fact that much of the criticism was coming from prominent right-wing economists.
Kyle Pomerleau, a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, said of Antoni: “He has either shown a complete misunderstanding of economic data and principles, or he’s showing a willingness to treat his audience with contempt and mislead them.”
In a post on X, Dave Hebert, senior research fellow for the American Institute for Economic Research, said: “I’ve been on several programs with (Antoni) at this point and have been impressed by two things: his inability to understand basic economics and the speed with which he’s gone MAGA. I can only hope the Senate blocks this.”
The Nation’s Chris Lehmann had even worse to say about Antoni: “central casting appears to have unearthed Antoni, who is basically the economics version of Chris Rufo – a mendacious talking head who will do virtually anything to distort the basic terms of inquiry in order to arrive at an ideologically predetermined outcome.”
And then it got even worse: KFILE uncovered vile, disgusting tweets tied to Antoni’s account — including sexually degrading attacks on Vice President Kamala Harris, homophobic slurs, unhinged conspiracy theories, and crude insults aimed at anyone who dared criticize Trump.
Now, CNN reports that the White House has quietly sent paperwork to the Senate to WITHDRAW his nomination altogether. In other words: Antoni is DONE.
Trump’s attempt to corrupt yet another federal agency and replace facts with MAGA lies is collapsing in real time.
This is what accountability looks like.
I mean, the question is still open as to why he was pulled. God knows the GOP Senate has approved all kinds of pernicious shitheels.
I guess there’s a fine line between loud and not-so-loud MAGA loyalists.
