Well this is fun. I thought HEARTED was not a valid word because I checked the Scrabble website after the game. After reading what **amarone **said, I went and checked a regular dictionary (Merriam-Webster) website and you’re right, HEARTED is just fine. I wonder why the Scrabble site didn’t like it?
You need to get The Official Scrabble Players Dictionary.
Incidentally, a non-word-related game that I’ve found many Scrabble players dig is BLOKUS. Intriguiging and fun. Our family loves it.
Once, my opponent gleefully announced to me that she was going to play all of her tiles on her next turn and I couldn’t stop her. The word was “EQUATORS.” There were suitable two “E” tiles that were spaced well away from each other.
I usually get one or two bingos a game (when I get to play - my husband refuses to play with me any more). But my most memorable play was when a former boyfriend once played a word ending in ‘B’, with the ‘B’ on the right-hand edge of the board, right below the top triple-word box (middle triple-word on that side was already used). He figured that even though I would get the triple-word, there couldn’t be too many great-scoring short words with ‘B’ as the second letter. I played “IBEX”, with the X on the double-letter, for 63 points.
