I want to get a different haircut (right now I’ve just got a short back and sides) but can’t decide on a good one. If I ask a hairdresser to surprise me they always get embarresed and just give me a short back and sides again. I guess they’re worried I’ll get mad if I don’t like it, if I get a haircut that sucks I can always get a buzz cut again though.
I don’t care what the straight guys here think because I’m only interested in what people who find men attractive think about this :).
You’re probably, as tastes differ, going to get a whole slew of answers, many of them potentially differing to some pretty fun extremes. I, for one (though I am neither a gay man nor a non-homosexual woman), enjoy lots of different hairstyles on a man:)

It really all depends on what you look like. I’d have to see what you look like.
Some guys, I like with long hair (like 70s rock band style long hair).
Some guys can look good with a short short short buzz cut.
Some guys look good bald.
Some guys look good with a medium length.
Some guys look good with short hair.
I like attitude. Crisp, pokey even, with a certain edge. I also like floppy hair, but that taste has waned in recent years.
Long hair I used to love; now it just seems kinda young and sloppy. Although, others will point out banned poster Satan had long hair–and it worked on him. Very cool.
Actually, I like them a little rough. When watching Survivor Africa, I really liked the look of Lex. Long, tall, tattooed, pokey hair, sideburns, piercings…very cool. Then I realized that describes my hubby (minus the tattoos–I told him tonight I thought tattoos all down both arms would look very cool on him, but knew he’d never, ever do that).
I like the military haircut–very short on the sides, with some length on top. I don’t like hair too long–I tend to be jealous of guys who have better hair than I do.
I’m all for the just-been-laid look–that is, messy, slightly longish, almost 70’s-style hair. Typically assosiated with rock stars, John Rzeznick of the Goo-goo Dolls, and Nick Valensi of the Strokes pull it off well. Of course, it depends on what you yourself look like…for example, Michael Jordon, Bob Barker and Sting just could carry things off.
And to butcher a quote from Lucy in Charlie Brown, “get a good haircut, you blockhead. Maybe paint it pink.” (Replace haircut with tree and I believe you have the original.)
Sorry, twas a joke, I’ve had a couple of straight guys respond and I’m not throwing out their votes cause of it.
I’m hoping to get an idea of what kind of haircuts people like and then choose whatever suits me – I’m guessing that my hairdresser will respond better to me asking for a specific cut than asking her to choose.
Course, I could always just post a picture of my head :).
Guys with REALLY short hair do it for me. #1 crop, or better still, skinhead. It’s something I find incredibly sexy to look at, and I can’t resist touching it. Obviously I’m not the only once with this fascination; since I started shaving my head, I’ve experienced total strangers coming up to me and asking if they can see what it feels like.
I personally like guys who have short hair with a little bit of gel. But mostly, its whatever kind of hair suits the guy. As long as it looks good I like it, although it is better when I can run my hands through it!
Oh, Silentgoldfish, it really doesn’t matter to me as long as it apparent that he has good grooming. But I do love the springtime when so many freshly shaved heads can be seen gracing the city streets.
