A Poll on Biden

The ACLU has a new and much better slogan: “Divest and Reinvest”

Nice to see Biden ahead in a Texas Poll.

Yeah, that’s better. Rhymes, too, which is good for the street chanting.

Yep. And it is a great idea too- not just cutting budgets, but using the $ in better ways.

And, for some, it evokes pressure in the 1980s (e.g.) for corporations, universities, etc. to divest from South Africa…and so makes a subtle allusion to the unjust, racialized law enforcement under apartheid (I’m not saying they’re “the same,” mind you).

That’s harder to chant though . ACLU using Divest and Reinvest is good because of its chant-a-bility.

I saw that video two months ago., even before the Tara Reade accusations. Pedo Joe is already a failed meme.

If Trump wants to make some slander against Biden actually stick, it has to be something that hasn’t already been a credible accusation against The Donald.

“Divest and Reinvest” is six syllables and “Black Lives Matter Too” is five.
BLACK LIVES MATTer TOO! (four counts). Easy to chant. (Not that the change will be made; a change would devastate the t-shirt industry! :astonished: )

What’s left?

Try saying it out loud in chant. Black Lives Matter Too is pretty awkward and has no real flow. Ending on a ‘too’ ruins it.

Divest and Reinvest works because you can basically separate Divest And & Reinvest (with an emphasis on the Re).

Like “This is What Democracy Looks Like” it’s long but had a nice flow for an effective protest chant.

(If you want to change BLM, Black Lives Also Matter has a better flow than a Black Lives Matter Too)

Seems like a matter (!) of opinion. As I said, four counts: Black Lives Matter Too! One two three four!

But, Black Lives ALSO Matter would be just as good as BLMT from the standpoint of foiling the right’s cynical attempts to misrepresent the movement. It would do the job of making their shenanigans work less well.

Of course just having it as the superior sounding Black Lives Matter ended up winning out in the end.

Having the Matter at the end, fwiw allows for a greater emphasis at the end of the slogan while also sounding more pleasant.

Bestiality? Certainly they can come up with video of Biden frenching Lassie if they try really hard.

I think we can assume that someone, in some basement, is working hard to make this sort of deep-fake propaganda. That basement may be in the USA or it may be in Pyongyang or Moscow…but somewhere, someone is working the pixels.

Doesn’t seem likely to be found plausible, though.

The Gravis Poll for Florida has Biden up by 10%! Woot!

Thank you! The last column usually makes me smile these days.

Putting the latest poll averages from 538 into the 270towin.com map, I gave Biden every state he was currently winning by more than 7% (i.e. 7.1% and higher) and gave Trump every other state.

Biden wins with 279 EV.

Loooooong way to go, but a full 7% cushion at this stage is heartening.

Nice to Texas for Biden, though the number is too small to mean anything.

Texas?!? :scream:

OMG, if Texas is in play, that means the GOP has to spend millions of $ there to keep it in line, this is great news.

Yeehaw!
