So sick of this fucking clown show that we call the presidential election.
No good can come of this.

I voted three weeks ago so I am no longer the target market for dumb ads, Facebook diatribes and political scandal clickbait. It feels good.
Trump losing = good.
Trump dropping dead of a brain aneurysm immediately after losing the election = good.
I just don’t see how 4 years of Republican special prosecutors going after Hillary = good.
Seriously?
I get that Clinton is bitchy, secretive, and snotty. Those aren’t good qualities to have in a president. I’ve never liked Clinton, and I’m annoyed that she’s going to be rewarded with the Presidency.
Now take a look at the other candidate. Seriously, take a good look. Now try to tell me with a straight face that they’re all alike. Cynicism is intellectual cowardice.
I’m hoping that Hillz will prove to be more of a dab hand at Republican ball-crushing than Obama was.
They are not at all “a-like”. Never made that claim. Clearly Trump is far worse. Doesn’t mean that HRC’s presidency will be inspirational or help bridge the socio-political divide.
This is not a real thing. If you try to transform this metaphor into actual things a President does, you’ll see that it goes away in a puff of smoke.
I’ve talked about this with several friends recently. We’re so worn out and disgusted with the entire campaign. (All of us are Clinton supporters.) The ugliness, lack of civility, disregard of issues and the well-being of the COUNTRY in favor of name-calling, gotchas, nit-picking, bullshit… it just goes on and on.
I had breakfast with a friend Friday morning and we were lamenting the state of the campaign but at least it would be over soon… and then get home to Comey’s announcement on a FRIDAY, for Pete’s sake. It just doesn’t end. And it won’t end with the election to listen to the Republicans who plan on spending millions of dollars in taxpayer money to continue investigating Hillary Clinton… AARRGGHH. To. What. End.
At first, Trump was a joke. Then as the campaign wore on, his antics became the Dumpster Fire that you couldn’t take your eyes away from. But now, we’re looking at the wreckage of a major disaster with pieces and parts smoldering and rotting in a ditch on the side of the road. Unfortunately, it still matters. The election and its outcome are still important, so one can’t just walk away.
I don’t know where the country goes from here.
Hillary got along well with many of her GOP colleagues in the Senate. Now, that does mean she will do so as president, but it does give some hope.
The president is not magic. If the country requires an inspiration, maybe we should try watching videos of puppies and babies hugging each other instead.
All I require of a president is that they carry out the normal duties of the presidency, and not be colossal fuckups. Inspiration and $5 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Look at Obama, inspirational as hell, and what has he accomplished? Not driving the country off a cliff. His inspirational qualities didn’t do him that much good in the face of Republican opposition. What’s done him a lot more good is his calm managerial instincts. After eight years of no-drama, I’m not exactly looking forward to the Clinton drama.
This.
My gut tells me it will become far more divisive. I’m not optimistic that there is a way of getting the disenfranchised, racist, fact-shy genie back in the bottle. Trump and his ilk will continue to stoke fear and ignorance of 40% of the electorate.
HRC is too polarizing a figure. Her victory will only serve to add fuel to the fire.
It didn’t take long at all for the Republicans to build up Obama from an obscure politician into a monster in the eyes of their base. Any Democrat would be a “polarizing figure”, the Republicans would make sure of that.
You’re making my point. Obama, despite GOP’s petulant kicking and screaming for 8 years, managed to right the ship and avoid the icebergs. Clinton will have a harder time of it.
IMHO, Hillary Clinton is the worst possible candidate for President.
With the exception of Donald Trump.
I think there is room to squeeze in a few others between Clinton and Trump.
Many of whom were GOP also rans.
My hope is that Clinton and whomever the Senate Majority Leader are, in the face of continued “Republican” intransigence at best, and immediate impeachment proceedings at worst[sup]*[/sup] move to immediately remove the 60 vote super-majority crap so that they can actually get things done.
*good lord, what complete fucking baboons, with all respect to actual baboons. Impeachment proceedings Day 1. Did they learn nothing?
They aren’t going to get much done with just the Senate.
Though maybe the GOP has lowered the bar so far that just filling vacant posts counts now.
My hope for Clinton is that she is willing and able to work with the Republicans. Whether she is willing to work with the Republicans is up to her. Whether she is able to work with the Republicans is up to the Republicans.
It would be a start.
