A Question For Fans Of The Marvel Universe

If Hulk and Apocalypse were to do battle, which one do you think would end up on the losing end of that battle?

The X-Men seem to kick his ass on a fairly regular basis, so I’d have to assume Apocalypse wouldn’t do so well against The Hulk.

I’d have to give the edge to Apocalypse. He’s got millenia of experience under his belt, while the Hulk (even in his smarter incarnations) is basically just a seething anger management problem. I think Apocalypse would be able to outsmart the Hulk, and find some way to nullify his powers.

If they met on a street corner by accident the Hulk would win. Given any prep time, Apocalypse would take the Hulk.

Apocalypse would lose. Hulk strongest one there is.

It depends which version of the Hulk and Apocalypse we’re talking about. At the height of their abilities, and with most versions of the Hulk, I’d give it to Apocalypse.

Except in the extremely unlikely circumstance that the encounter occurred in a comic where Apocalypse was the title character, or the less-unlikely one-shot “What If” scenario, Hulk would vanquish Apocalypse with some amount of supposed finality.

… Then some hack bereft of ideas would resurrect Apocalypse months later in some random X-book.

Everyone loses.

How mad will The Hulk be allowed to get in this story?

Yes, but you wouldn’t like Mark Ruffalo when he’s angry.

Banner: You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.

Wolverine: I don’t like you now.

This why NO ONE other the Claremont should have ever touched the X-Family. I LOVE Hulk but Apocalypse, IS

“I am the rocks of the eternal shore; crash against me and be broken.”

Now that I think about it, the perfect person to deal with the Hulk would be Magneto. He could wrap the Hulk in metal and then blast him off into space. Even if this didn’t kill the Hulk, he could conceivably spend hundreds of years (or even thousands of years) stuck in orbit before he comes back down.

The Hulk has been blasted off into space before. It didn’t take.

They just need to do the calculations first.

Isn’t Hulk basically like Superman where, depending on the situation (anger level for Hulk, sun for Supes) that he’s basically invincible and unbeatable?

So I’m gonna go with Hulk

Did the X-Men really kick his ass, though? I’ve only done one run through the 90s story lines but I seem to recall Scott was able to defeat him in The Twelve showdown thing, but only by merging with him and becoming batshit crazy. I feel like there’s never really been a clean and easy win.

IIRC, Reed Richards and Tony Stark did the calculations. They know how to do math. When the Hulk came back…

(Everybody, sing! “The Hulk came back/He didn’t stay away/He was right back home…” Okay, it took longer than “the very next day”, but after all his trouble and trauma IN SPACE, what resulted was World War Hulk.)

Would this work against the Hulk:

There are a lot of telepaths that can use telekinesis in the Marvel Universe. The Hulk, for all his strength, isn’t as heavy as, say, a building. Can someone like Jean Gray just levitate the Hulk in the air and keep him there until he starves to death? The Hulk has no means of propulsion in zero gravity. As long as he doesn’t grab onto anything, he wouldn’t be able to move close enough to land a punch or do anything.

YogSosoth: it might work… But the Hulk can bellow pretty loudly. He could just keep amping up his roars until that starts to destroy cities, or crack the earth’s crust.

So… Add a hard vacuum to the terms… (Which a number of Marvel heroes can arrange…)

Hell, have Molecule Man turn him into a pile of Calcium Carbonate.
