In the film, Blade, there is a scene where Snipes’ character enters a nightclub. In this nightclub is an asian music group with a girly female vocalist. Is this really a band, and where can I find a CD of their music if so?
I don’t have the movie to watch the credits, but I’m sure someone here does. Thank you.
Yeah, that was the dead link. Grr… I wish I had a broadband connection. The one (seemingly) knowledgable reviewer @Amazon mentioned that I should be able to find this song by looking for songs by that Shonen Knife band (anyone heard them? Are they similar or something?) and that if I hunted around I’d DL “Chin Chin” instead of the Shanghai song.
But… not having the movie at hand I probably wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference.
I am hot on the hunt now, though. If I am lucky, DDG will work her internet magic for me… [crosses fingers]
Shonen Knife is also made up of young Japanese women, but I couldn’t say how similar they are. I tried downloading the Shanghai song, but I suspect I had the actual Shonen Knife song, and not “Chin Chin”.
The lyrics in that song go, in part: “Chin-chin buri-buri soseji”. This translates rougly out to “dick swinging like a sausage.” Seriously!
I liked Blade a lot. Good dumb fun. The DVD is a good rent, if only to see the alternate ending. (Which wasn’t nearly as good as the one they used.)

I knew “chin chin” was Japanese slang for penis. When I first learned that, I found it greatly amusing because when I was a kid, my Mom named the family dog, a Shih-Tzu, “Chin Chin”. She claims ignorance, but I wonder…
You might want to try Audiogalaxy. Search for Bang Wa Cherry, or this should work. I’m downloading it now to see what you’re talking about, so if you don’t have Audiogalaxy, let me know and I’ll put it on a public server.
Yeah, pretty sure that’s it. Thanks qshapadooy! The one I got seems to be chopped at the end, but it goes on about 2 minutes too long for my taste anyway.
Shonen Knife sounds nothing like the song the OP is talking about. They are a pop-punk group, most of their songs sound like The Ramones with female vocals and better guitarists.
