A sad, busy trip to Cottonfield County: this week's MMP

Just sent off a job app. I sent a resume earlier and heard back almost immediately with a request that I fill out the application. It’s an engineering job. My only concern is if it’s one that will compete with my husband’s company - or specifically with something he was hoping to do. But it doesn’t hurt to interview, right?

Off to pick up the ham… yummmmmmmmm

That’s not Dipsey! That’s me newest little boy, Harley (formerly named Charlie.)

Mr Rebo got a honey baked ham from his work. We’re having it for Christmas.

 Didn’t you just retire? :dubious:

be my guest, swampy, and share it yourself.

It’s Firday, I’m at work but goofing off. I figured out how to play music on my computer (we have a very strict IT dept. that blocks all the good stuff) so I’m listening to A Charlie Brown Christmas. I’m going to leave work early (like everyone else) and go to the grocery store. I admit, I love grocery shopping. Sometimes I just wander up and down the aisles looking at stuff I’ll never buy. This store used to carry Honey Baked Ham and if it does, HBH for din.

Would it be wrong for me take advantage of the “buy one bag of Wavy Lays chips, get a second bag free” offer???

**rosie **- I’ve discovered that retirement is boring. I hate housework and I find it hard to get motivated to attack projects around here, plus I miss human interaction. I’d like to get something part time, but I might take a full-time gig if it feels right.

I’ve returned with FCD’s company Honey Baked Ham - it’s in the fridge defrosting, so we won’t be eating it before the weekend. Last year’s wound up divided into multiple baggies of slices that we enjoyed thru the year. I expect the same will happen this year.

The temp’s dropping and the wind is nasty - I’m glad to be back inside. I may start a fire before long.

Trying to get motivated. Need to run errands and go to a wake. I hate wakes.

I’ll look for you at the meeting, shortdrum. Today was my 14th straight workday. I told a buddy it’s been like two weeks of Mondays. The only motivation I can find is in the dictionary between the words mote and motor.

The good news is this time next week I’ll be all excited for the holiday celebrations. My girlfriend’s mom makes Prime Rib Christmas Eve which is always a treat.

Don’t do it peedin! Back away from the chips-- there’s something better that’s worth the calories. Money spent on sale items is still money spent! Help me MMP, we have a chip crisis over on aisle nine!

Stupid power went out for about two seconds and it woke me up and now everything has to be reset. The only thing good about it is my ex-friend the attempted pet murderer’s boyfriend works for the power company. His day is ruined and he’ll grump at her. No fun in that house tonight! I’m eeevil

So does everybody buy hams regularly? We didn’t have ham but a couple three times a year in my house. But I hear a lot of my friends talk about ham for dinner fairly often. We also never had lamb, which I now regret 'cause we can get super good lamb here from FFA kids.

A[sup]2[/sup] hate to break it to ya but I think WetOne should go for the bogo chips. Chips are one of the major food groups after all.

Whew - my fridge was disgusting!! No fuzzy leftovers, but several sticky shelves and gunky gaskets. But it’s all nice and clean and organized now, so yay! I put the shelves in differently - we’ll see how I like them.

I don’t buy whole hams, but I buy ham steaks when they’re on sale. I think I have 1 or 2 of them in the freezer right now. By the same token, I don’t turn my nose up at free ham - or a ham bone, for that matter.

My sweetie is doing better - he’s awake more than asleep and he’s walking around more. I’m sure giving him his pain meds on a regular schedule is doing the trick. Soon the challenge will be keeping him from doing too much. But I’m glad he’s doing better.

I’m going to take a little puzzle break before critter feeding time. I deserve it, dammit!

God, have you ever pulled out the vegetable drawers and seen what gets under them? BLEEECH!

Someone mentioned they were taking their kids out for milkshakes. I haven’t had a milkshake in eons and now I’m dying for one.

Went downstairs about 2:15 to discover a dead-beyond-salvation battery. The RoadAssist guy game (2:40), tried to start it, and determined it needed replacing. So he went to the local AutoMegaStore and brought back a new one (so much for the cash I was going to deposit in the bank) and hooked it up - all done by 3:30. Did a few errands and came home. I just might go to sleep before 9pm.

These weren’t specifically dress-up dolls, they were just a model in a dress (might have even been illustrations) and then a lot of different clothing items in the same positions as the original model was standing, so you could cut them out and tape them on, etc. I don’t know why it was so fun at the time, but I was obsessed as a child.

The way our fridge is set up, it’s against a wall so the door only opens out to 90 degrees… so you can’t open the door all the way to get the drawers out. This makes cleaning the fridge REALLY HARD. Anyone have any advice?

Well, after a nail-biting week, the e-mail man finally came. My long awaited grades have finally been posted.

Now, steely-eyed readers may remember that I was having quite a bit of trouble with Spanish. My math, not so much. But Spanish… awful. I earned a good and proper “F” on one of my quizzes, and was a single point away from failing another one.

So: final grade in math: 97%, or an “A”

Final grade in Spanish: 88%, or a “B” (two fucking points away from an “A”! TWO! If I hadn’t bombed that one quiz…). Still, pretty good.

Yaaaaaay Fiat!

Vix that was me bein’ taken out for a DQ cheeseburger and a Blizzard. YUM!!! Back from that and lookin’ at Crimmus lights. Now I be chillin’.

That’s great, **Lancia! ** Good job!

I’ve had a rather busy day. I went and got my hair cut, colored and highlighted, came home, cleaned up the kitchen, hauled all the Christmas decorations out of the waaaay back of my front hall closet, went grocery shopping, and then helped my husband assemble lasagna.

After we eat, I need to actually decorate the tree and my fireplace area and all the rest of the house. I’ll be up all night, probably.

I’ll probably get up early again tomorrow morning and clean and tidy the house in preparation for my son’s arrival home and my husband’s soon to be ex-boss and his wife’s arrival. We’re leaving here around fivish to go to a Christmas party with our core group of friends, and taking the soon to be ex-boss and his wife along with us. This is the only time we’ll be able to get together with K (the boss) because he’s going home to family in Arkansas, and then moving to Arizona to take over a ramp there. He’s a good guy and my husband is sorry to see him go.

For some reason, my legs are really sore and tired. It’s weird. I wasn’t up and about any more than usual.

I’m thinking that after dinner I may just have brew up a pot of coffee so I can stay motivated and awake during the decorating.

Good job fiat!!! You taking more next semester?

Well, I foresee a doc visit in the future. I somehow FUBARed my left had(typical reaction: “Dude, get that checked out!”). It only hurts when I use it, though.

I know. But you must give me Dipsey before you become a Crazy [del]Cat[/del]Dog Lady. It’s for your own good.

Yay fiat!
