Remember, no solid food for quite a while to come.
After two weeks I was so sick of Carnation Instant Breakfast that I’m ruined for life. High end beef or chicken broth will probably be appreciated soon enough. Hint hint hint…

Two weeks until I’m unemployed. I’m not worried about money for a while, but I hate looking for a job.
All went well and I should get to see my poor sweetie in an hour or so. I just finished a salad and I’m about to go back to the waiting area. I r tahred!! And I hate the spell correct on this phone!
More when I can get on mom’s computer…
And now… The fifth baby of the day. Must be an unusual pace as the desk volunteers have been commenting on it.
I’ve already been working on home-made broths. The commercial stuff is all salt and no flavor and no nutritional value. On Saturday, I took some beef bones and mirepoix, and let it simmer for several hours. Strained out the bits and after an overnight in the fridge, we had clear beef jello. I also did nearly the same with some chicken, resulting in chicken stock and puréed chicken meat.
Blurf
I have a toolbox which until recently was totally disorganized and I had to take everything out to find something. On my list of things to do instead of snack after dinner was “organize toolbox.” I organized it and still snacked after dinner. But now I can find everything, even the teeny brads.
Oh, I forgotz. Blurf.
Blurf squared…
I woke up at 1.15 this morning and could not get back to sleep. I finally managed to go back to bed at 4.15 when mr ems alarm goes off at 4.20. Urgh
I have been productive this morning. I thought I might as well make the most of the short burst of energy from the quad shot venti latte. Then lunch with a supplier where I had a salad and then I get to leave early for PT.
2 more days til Vacation…2 more days!
This is an excellent idea. Thank you kindly. You’ve just made my weekend.
Peeta you should also play tropical like music. Think steel drums.
gotti glad DH’s surgery went well. Plus yay on the home made broths. I make my own broths and stocks cause they freeze well and taste better than the canned/boxed stuff.
BBBobbio it is indeed a f-aaaaaa-bu-lous toolbox. The chintz cover gave it that certain je ne sai quois.
emphasis mine
erm - it’s only Monday . . .
I was thinking I’d resist the temptation until I was done with finals week…but I probably won’t.
How are the surgeried hubbies doing?
My psych professor is going to let me make up the test I missed by being an idiot. YAY!!
I can’t find my immunization records. I have a physical for UConn tomorrow and my doc needs them so he can fill out the checklist. I busted my ass to get the complete list for community college and now I can’t find it. Dammit!! So annoying. It’s too late to compile them from various sources. They’re in this house somewhere, I just don’t no where.
The oil change is done, which is good. The tranny fluid is leaking and the knock sensor has set off the check engine light - which are bad.
So, what romantic holiday was in the middle of March? I’ve lost count of babies.
DH is zonked out, I’m not much better and I need to go home and release the hounds.
nothing romantic about pot luck at the bar on St Patrick’s Day night . . .
Late winter snowstorm?
TVCTPMO has fired a late day broadside at me, and I’m ready to open a can of whupass one someone, anyone.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Ah…green beer babies.
Blurf Actually, I wish I were up to blurf. Whatever ick I picked up, it’s made me too sick to keep down Pepto Bismol.
The meds I bought had alcohol and sugar in 'em, which are no-nos for me. I get even more sick, so I thought about trying to find the diabetic kind of medicine. But I figure being too ouchy to sit up for five minutes means I shouldn’t try to drive.
And I have a therapy session, which should be brilliant. Can’t cancel, they make me feel guilty.
Continued good recovery for the DHs, and Bobbio, go smack a pillow till it’s stuffin falls out.
I has a beautiful toolbox, full of every tool you’ll need, plus some you probably don’t. It’s what you really should get on your 21st birthday, instead of drunk to the point of poisoning.
Evenin’ Y’all! Home from Vestry meetin’. A looooooooooooong one. Then again when the big items are budget for the new year, nominations for three Vestry members, preparations for the annual Parrish meetin’ in January and a discussion of the Priest’s compensation package for the next year that would make for a loooooooooooooong session. Before the meetin’ OYKW and I grabbed dindin at that paragon of fine dinin’ known as Three Squares Diner.
BBBobbio what has TVCTPMO done now?
Continued prayers, good thoughts, crossed appropriate/inappropriate appendages for DH and FCD.
Feel better A[sup]2[/sup], Rosie and all you others sufferin’ from The Sick.
That’s all I got. Soon I shall go lie upon the bed and watch some teevee for a bit before sleepy bye time.
Nitey Nite Y’all!
Sneakin’ in a quick post before I crash and burn. **FCD **got to his room a bit before 4 - it’s right above the emergency room entrance. Fortunately, he’ll be mostly too doped up to notice anything. Before I left, I made sure his dinner was delivered, and I helped him by cutting up the meat and opening the apple juice. He ate a little and drank a bunch - he was really dehydrated. In fact, on my way out, I asked the nurse to get him another drink and some ice.
One of the orthopedic residents visited him and checked his leg strength, which was good. His back is really hurting him (duh - they hacked it open!!) - he says worse than the last time. But the dilaudid was working by the time I left. I figure he’s got one really hellish week ahead, then things should get lots better. His doc thinks we’ll be going home on Thursday.
Something I forgot to tell you - my goofy sweetie found something on line about patients who catch fire in surgery, and he found the procedures for dealing with it. So he printed them out, then bought a squirt bottle and labeled it “Dr P’s Surgical Fire Extinguisher” Everyone laughed and thought it was a hoot - except for one nurse who apparently had her sense of humor removed.
Oh, and on the way in this morning, I narrowly missed hitting a deer. Stoopit doe was standing right in the middle of the road. Just standing. Luckily, I had my high beams on and I was going less than the speed limit because it was all dark and I’m not all that familiar with the roads. Stoopit deer.
And on that note, I’m going to hit the shower and hit the sack. I’s pooped!
In no particular order:
