I’m totally snerking over you and OYKW at the next fam BBQ, Swampy.
‘Which one did she say is her sweetie?’ ‘She didn’t exactly say, but the one with short hair’ "They both have short hair, you goof’ ‘On the left, Little Sis’ ‘But he’s holding hands with the other guy’ ‘Yeah, but she said they were all friends. What kinda friends do you think they are?’ ‘I don’t think the kind you can find a definition for in the dictionary…’
‘They sing quite nicely, well except for Ashes…’ ‘The Swampish one talks about church so I’m confused because he’s not Unitarian.’
‘True, except they all came in the same car.’ ‘It’s a rental, silly. Such nicely dressed, polite men-- they liked my ham, you know.’
‘Ashes is lucky to have them around.’ ‘Yes, but around for what?’ ‘Opening jars?’ ‘Well, that’s always convenient…’
Linky for rose. Coulda been FedEx, you’re right. 50/50 on scary or happy package says my worries. Darn 'im for being fleet of foot!
Bwahahahaha! Ashes that just cracked me right up. I was snerkin’ and trying to cover it up here. I wasn’t very successful.
Bean soup is done, dishes are done, **FCD **is back in the recliner watching TV, Scruffy is nagging to be fed (30 more minutes, idiot dog…) and I’m still awake. I just got a call from the hospital wanting to be sure we got home OK, got the meds OK, and have made an appointment with the surgeon (tomorrow.) Honest to goodness, Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore is amazing. We’ve always had wonderful experiences there, better than any other hospital we’ve used, and there have been many - at least 6 others for 8 or 9 procedures. If you’re in Baltimore, you’re lucky to have that place close.
It’s grey and very windy out. Rain threatened for tonight, then it gets cold again. I do so hate winter. ick
A[sup]2[/sup], your head is an interesting place. What color are the trees in your world??
Why the trees are purple FCM!
When they’re not busy being pink.
Sneezing makes the wind blow their leaves.
Bartender, I’ll have what A[sup]2[/sup] is havin’. We’d just tell everybody that we have you around so we can dress you up in our latest fashion creations. That’d make your family happy right?
Baked chikin, baby carrots, broccoli, wild rice and rolls for dindin. Can’t wait! I’s hongry now but OYKW won’t be around until about five thirty.
Oh, I’m home!
Can I tell my boss that Powerpoint is against my religion? Cuz it totally is. Of course, I made up the religion so…
At long last, I’ve got the confirmations and clarifications from my spine surgeon. A shiny new Prodisc-C wil be put in next Friday. He says I’ll probably wake up post-op with no more arm pain, and I should be able to go to the amusement park and ride roller coasters this summer. Whee!
Doc’s been doing artificial discs for close to 13 years, so that’s comforting.
DH’s recovery is going well. He’s not needed any pain meds since leaving the hospital, and has been pretty good at following the post-op rules on what, when and how much he can eat. (Liquids, frequently, and not very much at one time) Sounds like another success for robotic surgery and a surgeon who’s done about 2,000 of these.
I am done. I have submitted my Government final and that means now I just have to wait for 4 of my 5 final grades (psych already posted - I got an A). In reality, the only one that’s important is Spanish. As long as I get at least a C, I’ll have earned my AA in Liberal Arts - probably the most worthless degree ever invented. But all it’s really good for is transferring and that’s why I got it so it has already served its purpose!
I am no longer a college student…at least not until orientation for UConn on the 4th.
Feels good.
So shortdrum got a degree from AA? Dang! How many steps is that? Seriously, congrats, now go sic UConn!
Glad DH is doin’ good gotti. Yay on gettin’ the surgery date and yay on bein’ to go ride rollercoasters!
ShinyCat if you show up to work in a horse and buggy and wearin’ Amish clothes you might get away with it.
Dindin was teh num! I’m proud of me! Tomorrow night a bunch of us are goin’ to ride around lookin’ at Christmas tacky. This is the most fun thing about this whole holiday thing for me. Sattidy night we’re hostin’ a little soiree. Finger foods (as in foods one eats with fingers as opposed to food made out of fingers) and adult beverages. Should be fun.
Had to take kiddo to the dentist at 2pm… didn’t wake up until 1:30pm. Yipes! Then when I went to pick him up I got herded into the stagnant pack of cars of kids getting picked up…so we were about 5 minutes late to the appointment–but I’d called ahead so it wasn’t too big a deal.
Hubby is sick, and I can’t do anything for him. He seems to get a little annoyed every time I ask him if there is something I can do (including suggesting things)… which is a little disheartening. I’m only trying to be helpful. As a wife I kind of see it as my duty to try to help him out of he’s not feeling well, but he won’t let me.
As long as I get to wear Mad Fashion stuff, I’ll be your dress up doll Swampy. And we’ll have quadruple shots with foam caffeine and caffeine sprinkles on top to toast.
I’m very linky today.
Pshaw congo, that degree is yours. Whatcha gonna do with it? Liberal Arts was a grade school teacher degree at my college. They were more afraid of the Fine Arts majors than even the Business majors.
I don’t see why, even after the collage and kim chee incident.
Gots, you’re both going to be out of commission? I will commence to crossing appendages now!
STRESS HAS LIFTED.
As far as I know.
For now.
That’s enough for me.
Speaking of magazines and dress-up dolls… anyone else here cut out the model on the back of the “New Yorker” and all the dresses/outfits that fit on her? I had a whole box at one time…
The only dress-up doll I remember from my youth is Betsy McCall, Opal.
Glad the stress is letting up, Spaz.
You had a really boring college experience, didn’t you, A[sup]2[/sup]?
Have done laundry and started Christmas cards. I feel so accomplished. Should probably be falling asleep sometime soon.
I have SOOOOOO many things to do before I leave on Sunday.
Has anyone seen taxi lately?
Hugs all.

I survived my first day of vacation. I took Dad to his doctor for a checkup, then to Quest for a blood test. I watched half a movie (The Help! It’s great!) then Mr Rebo came home early with an upset tummy.
Dinner was baked chicken, with baked NOT and green beans. Hubby ate pretty good, then went to bed early.
I rescheduled the appointment with the idiots at AT&T for tomorrow morning. Since we have service, I’m sure they won’t be able to figure out our intermittent service issues. <sigh>
I’m looking forward to yet another day of vacation. I’ll pretend I’m Moommm and I’m retired.
Just scored tickets for the Stevie Wonder/Justin Bieber/Michael MacDonald/Drake Christmas show in LA on Saturday. (Talk about a mixed crowd!)
I’m gonna turn that Liberal Arts degree into a nice hard science degree.
I sincerely hope that my UConn adviser will tell me that I’ve fulfilled my core requirements and that I don’t have to take a single Humanities class ever again for the rest of my life. Sadly, I know that this is highly unlikely to happen. I will be satisfied if I am at least free from Psychology and Sociology.
To which I say: Cool/eek/srsly?/who? and Enjoy.
The pain in my side may not be pulled muscle. It’s suspiciously reminiscent of the pain I had in '98 that started after a bout of bronchitis and developed into pleural and cardiac effusion. I am going back to the clinic tomorrow.
