I would be forgiving of that last point–I’ve accidentally posted under my husband’s username–but everything else makes me think that you’re not a model of propriety, so I am less inclined to believe you.

Ok, let me see if I have this all straight. In the title, he calls us an obscene name. In the OP, Clint basicaly says that he was trolling by making outrageous statements. Then he creates a sock, then busts HIMSELF by posting as Clint with said sock. He offers lame excuse.
Why is he Still HERE?
All other things aside, bitching about the “sockpuppet” is lame. The language used in the mistaken “bowpepe” posts seems right in line with his normal language (i.e., no attempt to hide persona), refers blatantly to posting earlier, was immediately owned up to as being a mistake, and has a logical explanation with precedent. Fierra and I have accidentally posted under the other’s accounts as well, as have a large number of SDMB people and couples. Just let that one lie, folks, there’s no real evidence of sockpuppetry, and focusing on it is just silly. Aside from the fact that there seems to be a rule (or at least “preferred posting behaviour”) about accusations of sockpuppets anyhow…
Clint, read Fenris’ post. Apologies don’t need to be anything more than that. In fact, they really shouldn’t be more than that in most every case.
And I am sorry to disagree, Particlewill, and I didn’t want to post what I did immediately after your post which might make it seem like I was picking at/on you. I just feel very strongly that the sock issue is a non-issue.
Well I can understand that, and I will beleve that he made an honest mistake only if his wife ever posts again. In any case it seems to me that the guy has not only admitted being a Jerk, but has reveled in his Jerkness. Sock issues aside, he’s a Jerk.
bopepe, if you’re a real person, my condolences. I was going to suggest that, rather than asking us why Clint was being forced to apologize, you ask him.
But then I realized that he’s not going to give you an accurate answer. So I’ll try.
It’s not his opinions that make him an execrable jerk. It’s his obnoxious manner. Possibly he’s a little sweetie in real life, but on this messageboard, he comes across as the quintessential feces-flinging monkey who enjoys watching shit splatter against other posters.
If you want to know why there’s so much vitriol against him here, I encourage you to read the threads linked earlier. I can’t say it’ll be good for marital harmony, however; you may just as soon not know the kind of cretin your husband can be online.
