A Special Manly MMP

Good morning.

Still hate Comcast.

Hate the commercial of slurping yogurt.

A skunk completely sprayed my whole yard and the house smells revolting.

That’s all the news from the Tower.

I could not possibly live without all the manly things Mr. Anachi does around the house. I DO, however, do the majority of the grillin’ because I am much better at it than the majority of men I know who think charcoal on a stick is a reasonable substitute for grilled steak (Mr. Anachi excepted…mostly).

Other than that, Mr. Anachi has my explicit permission to pursue and demonstrate all of the manly arts including pharting.

The trigger was pulled yesterday for round trip airline tickets to London for next May.

Tupug

EWWWW!!! My sympathies!

Please pray/send good thoughts/anything for my husband today. He’s headed to the ENT specialist: he has a lump under his chin. We don’t know what it is. Our family doc gave him some antibiotics, and it didn’t go away. I am worried.

I was going to ask if the monkey was dead or not but after your post ------------- never mind.

Hi, y’all! Sorry I’m late to the MMP. No good excuse for yesterday. :frowning:

I had an awesome weekend, with great live jazz on Friday night and movie night with friends on Saturday. We ate pizza and watched Kick-Ass, which totally lived up to its title. I really liked that movie! I was the token straight/female person at the viewing, but luckily no one there was heterophobic. It was a very fun party. I love my friends, and their friends! Plus I got two new FB friends out of the deal, which is always good.

The thing about Comcast (IME, anyway) is that you hardly ever need to deal with customer service, but then when you do it’s a freaking nightmare.

I had a bit of an adventure this morning: I let Bailey out in the back yard, as usual, and a minute later I heard her “I see a squirrel/bird/shiny thing” bark. Only it sounded like she was farther away than she should have been. So I looked out in the yard, and saw that the back gate was open! (It’s on the side of the house, not noticeable if you’re just standing at the back door.) Shit! It was closed at 11pm last night, when I let her out to pee for the last time before bed, so clearly some random stranger opened it last night/this morning. I commenced stealthily chasing the dog, who luckily stayed in the court and didn’t cross the street, and the only reason I caught her was that she stopped to poop. I then carried 40lbs of fur back to the house. (I never yelled at her or got angry during the chase, because it wasn’t her fault, but she could tell that I wasn’t messing around when she started to struggle in my arms and I said, “NO!”) We got back to my yard, where I dumped the doggy and closed the gate, and then I had to sit on the bench for a few minutes to catch my breath (and cry a little; the relief kind of tears).

Today I am looking forward to lunch with a good friend: his partner manages the kitchen of a local restaurant that’s been open for more than a year but that I haven’t been to yet, and we’re meeting there. It’s part of the Great American Restaurants family, so I know the food will be yummy!

I vote for Monkees! I was too young to catch that show the first time around, but at some point in my youth (perhaps high school?) one of the cable channels (perhaps Nickelodeon?) started showing regular reruns and I think I’ve seen almost all of the episodes. I have a few of the albums, too. Good stuff.

Very cool! I’m totally jealous: my favorite uncle (and his wife and their daughter) moved to London at the start of this year, and I’m dying to go visit them.

Fingers crossed, Ann!!

Prayers for Mr. Onimous.

Did I say I was making pound cake today? Well, I was lying. I guess that will be tomorrow. I had forgotten that the Almond Emulsion which used to live on the shelf in the garage had turned an unappetizing shade of green so I threw it away. I thought I had another bottle in the house, but I’m thinking that I gave it to the Sock Lady the last time she was over.

Missy, I hope you went back to clear up the doggie poop afterwards!

Sending good thoughts for Mr Onimous, unexplained lumps are scary things.

Oh, I grabbed her before she actually pooped (while she was sniffing and circling the grass).

Eeek! Running back to your yard with a huge dog about to poop on you? That’s bravery…

Prayers, good thoughts and appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed for Mr. Onimous Annie.

Change of dindin plans. Due to the fact that I want real food, instead of burgers tonight we shall have ham, peas and butterbeans with okra (quit yuckin’!), mac&cheese and cornbread. ‘Twill be good! I called MOG and told her to come over Thursday to hang out at the pool and we’d grill burgers, which she was all jake with. I have a feelin’ daiquiris or margaritas will be involved also.

Prayers ascend.

Thanks, guys. Haven’t heard anything yet, but will keep y’all posted.

And he is a sometime Doper: Saint Zero.

Hello! I made it to Norfolk after a very very loooong day and now I am hanging out in the hotel room until my info session at 5PM. Then back to Cali tomorrow.

I had fabulous crab cakes for dinner last night. Other than that nuttin going on.

Thoughts/prayers/hugs for Mr Onimous.

Manly things…mr ems is very manly. In fact he squished a big spider for me on Sunday after I screamed like a little girl when I opened my eyes after rinsing the shampoo off my hair when I was in the shower and it was hanging in front of me. He is my hero

Hugs and good thoughts for Mr Onimous. (That just looks weird - looks like ominous - which is not what I want this sentence to sound like!)

Ernie sounded a little better this morning. Hopefully he’ll quit coughing before the “seven to ten days” that the internet says is typical.

I’m working hard, and hope to get this drawing out today so it can be released by tomorrow. Cross your fingers, everyone!

Saint Zero just called: he has an enlarged lymph node. He has to go to the hospital tomorrow morning for a fine needle aspiration to see what’s causing it.

Thanks for the prayers. Please remember us tomorrow.

I will keep my fingers crossed for both Rebo and Saint Zero (even though it makes typing difficult)!

More like desperation. It was the only way to get her back home, since I didn’t grab a leash on my way out the door and if you try to drag her by her collar she’ll just sit and not budge (who can blame her?). She wouldn’t poop as long as I had my hand on her collar, so scooping her up and going back to the yard it was. She’s not huge, though: just a ~40-lb hound mix.

I am somewhat GRRRRrrrrr this morning. Verizon sold out to Frontier Communications in our area, and they are ‘migrating’ all our e-mail accounts. I can still receive my e-mail under my old account name, but i cannot send e-mail, period. Which means I can’t send this invoice I just prepared. I also can’t seem to sign on to their mail server which their e-mail to be says I should be able to. It’s Yahoo mail, which may be the problem.
Other than that, it’s a fine morning here in Orygun. Gonna be 92F today, but I’m at the store. With air conditioning.

Hope Saint Zero is just getting a fat head and nothing real serious is going on there.

All the best thoughts heading your way.

That’s not being cheap. You are simply not being wasteful. Very virtuous, if you ask me.

Daughter is going to be really late today - something about having to be at work Thurs and Fri and having to get stuff finished tonight. I’ll find out when she gets here. I think I’m going to persuade my sweetie to take me out for dinner. Or I’ll take him out. Either way.

Nothing exciting going on. It’s just Tuesday.

I have acquired a new bottle of almond emulsion. Tomorrow there will be cake!
