Taters, that new 'do is Teh Sex. I sure hope that when you unveiled it, the mister properly err… appreciated [del]you[/del] it.
LiLi, it’s still not too late to resort to opiates, you know.
Today was sticky hot again. Definitely not the best day to be wandering through Chinatown, and yet, that’s still what I did… that’s where my coffee purveyor of choice is located, and there’s a whole lot I’ll put up with to get coffee that’s good for both my tastebuds and my conscience (it’s made with locally roasted organic fair trade beans). I also bought a couple of pairs of Chinese slippers, because they’re cheap, comfy and go great with sundresses.
The “real” shoe shopping was… well… disappointing. I did manage to pick up a cute pair of Kenneth Coles for half-price, but other than that, nothing really caught my eye. My quest for a nice pair of plain brown flats must continue unsatisfied.
I was out in the garden till about 1/2 an hour ago. Planted a bunch of annuals, swept both stoops very thoroughly, planted a couple more perennials, weeded, sawed off a couple of dead crabapple branches admired the cherries on the cherry tree. I’ll be making jam this week, it looks like. I’m thinking Tuesday might be the day.
Tornado! Touched down about 5 miles from here in Park Forest–destroyed an apartment building so my FIL says.
Poured like hell here–an inch and a half in less than half an hour. My rain barrel is full to overflowing.
Off to bed soon. #1 son leaves for camp tomorrow (the counselors go up one day early); #2 son goes Monday. I leave tomorrow for Memphis, so most likely I’ll be out of pocket until Wednesday. May have internet withdrawal, but it’ll be good for me.
Taters, that is a badass 'do–I may use your pic as a cheat sheet next time I go in to to get mine done because I really need a haircut and that’s just what I want! Your hair looks a lot thicker than mine, though, not entirely sure mine would behave that well…
Donkeybear, didn’t your mama listen to Hillary’s speech? Hillary would be VERY DISAPPOINTED if she goes McCain! Plus, McSame’s an asshole…
Swampy, you regulate on that Dawg! Don’t back down a bit or else he’ll walk all over you.
Hot here too. Yuck. My son had a formal tonight- suit, ties etc. Hot gym. Poor kids.
At least there were snow cones–
oh this is cool- my husband organized the food for the dance and picked up the snow cone rental machine. It doesn’t have to go back until Monday. So… we have three gallons of syrup, tons of ice and a SNOW CONE MACHINE all day tomorrow!!!
There was a kitten outside the apartment tonight when I came home from work. I gave it a skritch, since I thought Thrakazog had gotten out. It hissed at me, and mom cat(Thrak’s mom’s best friend) came over and stared at me. Wrong kitty. They also scared Nelly back inside when I tried to walk her. I guess we are under siege.
Soapy, oooh! snow cone!
Great do, Taters!
gt, I read that as planted a bunch of animals.
Smartie, it doesn’t work like that. He can’t vote for Obama, no matter how much HRC endorses him, because he’s black. And (in his eyes) “Islam” (even though he really means “Muslim”). My mom is going to do whatever my dad does. I thought they had private booths, I was too young to vote in the last election, but she literally told me she just looked at everything he had put down and copied it.
Also, since everyone here loves double-posts, a M, P detail IMS. My whole digestive tract is gurgling. I can hear distinct gurgles from my stomach and somewhere lower, in the intestines (no, not the back door). It’s just gurglin’ away. I just ate a PB&J sandwich and a banana, neither of which are foods known to make me get all gurgly.
Morning all. Busy morning and It’s barely 9:30am here!
Mornings are always a rush, no matter how organised we are. This morning, I had just got dressed and was getting the lunch boxes packed (mine and HRH’s) in the kitchen. HRH was behind me while I threw yoghurt, fruit cups, etc in the bags, when I turned around to find she had got into the cupboard under the sink and was sucking on the cap of the dish-washing liquid (it was closed, but a bit sticky - you know what it’s like).   Gahhhhhh!!! She gagged and blew a couple of small bubbles, I poured water down her throat and she promptly hurled all over me and the floor! After that, she was fine! Kids are just so resilient! Then we just had to rush around double-time to get changed and de-vomitified, before racing out the door. After I dropped HRH off to MIL’s house, I realised I had left my belt (no wonder my pants are falling down! :smack: ) and my lunchbox on the dining table! Race back home and grab them, then drive to work, before calling hubby to apologise for leaving a puddle of toddler milk-vomit on the kitchen floor covered only with an old tea-towel! Sigh … I need another weekend!!!
My guests JUST left. It’s been a crazy night - much drinking, some poker, excessive laughter. I’m actually pretty sober - I didn’t really feel like getting drunk, which is weird for me but I had fun nevertheless.
It was really hot until a few hours ago though. My apartment doesn’t have a/c so we moved out to the porch, then Olive got antsy and almost fell off the porch in her frantic leaping around, which in turn almost gave me a heart attack. The weather didn’t break until around 1am - we got cool breezes, then an absolute torrent of rain.
Mr Inappropriate’s new girlfriend is lovely. I’ve met her before - she was in the MA year before mine, and I know some people from that year because they were mentors for our year - but the people from her year I never really liked (they’re weird - too much to go into here). She always seemed cool though - the only person from that year I’ve been interested in getting to know. (She said the same thing about me, hah - the girls from our year are for the most part somewhat shrill and girly; probably why I never bonded with anyone outside of Scottish Darling). She and Mr Inappropriate are so happy together. I’m so glad he broke up with Ice Queen.
She came in every fifteen minutes from one till three to tell us how much she wuvs us! Yes she does! In spite of being locked out of the bedroom twice. I gave up at three and took Nat to the couch. Mr. Lissar can generally get her to shut up after fifteen minutes or so by cuddling, but she was really, really loud last night.
She also threw up on my shoes just after I went to bed.
I had ice cream for dinner yesterday. I think I’ll have pizza for breakfast. And a hard cider. And maybe some rum.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. I thought I’d have a hangover but I don’t. YAY!!! JoeDawg was given mandatory skritches and treats first thing. He is now having mandatory couch time. His daddy is still asleep. Heck, everybody’s asleep but me. Maybe I’ll go fry bacon. No one can sleep with the smell of bacon waftin’ about.
donkeybear you still gurglin’? I should be able to make some kind of innuendo about it but it’s still too early for that.
I have two ideas for the MMP tomorrow. I shall have to decide which one to use. Creative genius such as mine is such a burden!
Ok, off to make some brekkies for the sleepin’ hordes.
You need to have a serious conversation with Aerin LiLi and explain that she is driving you to drink, that this will be a bad thing as that would be one less person who would be able to feed her. I’m sure she’ll understand and immediately change her behavior.
Are we going to have to start calling HRH Soapy? That would be confusing. Glad she’s OK.
I’ve been up for a while. Started cleaning the kitchen. Inspected some of the flowers I planted yesterday and on Friday. Took pics (I’ll post them later).
Need to have breakfast, go to work, go to church, go to watch nephew play baseball, do laundry. Yeah, it’ll be a busy day.
Good morning all! Hey Swampy, I’ll take some of that bacon up here. Well, at least the smell of it frying, maybe. I shouldn’t eat it, but I love it, and can’t really acclimate myself to the turkey bacon (ugh!).
Sorry about Hansel, Spaz, but it sounds like he led a long and happy life, thanks to you.
Sometimes I’d love to have a cat, but then I read a post like LiLi’s, and am relieved that I don’t have one! Sorry that Aerin puked in your shoes, though, LiLi. And poor Dotty! Although good thing that HRH did puke; children will try to get into just about anything, unfortunately. Heh on hubby having to finish that clean up!
Have a safe trip, Rigs, and do try to have a good time while gone–even though we know you’ll be missing us terribly!
It’s entirely too hot to do much of anything here–and it’s supposed to continue until Tuesday  I’ve been freezing my yogurts and eating them frozen. Oh boy, is that stuff delicious, seriously! I had an orange creme Yoplait whipped last night and even that was delicious.
GT, be careful out in that heat! And happy Sunday all.
