Going through our stuff for the upcoming yard sale. Sorry. It’s busy here today. Anyone want a 1935-40 red rayon dress? It’s for sale.
Actually, anyone want a midnight blue silk velvet opera cloak? It’s for sale, too, although maybe not at the yard sale. The damn thing is worth too much.
I’m getting rid of a huge number of clothes, baby stuff, and some kitchen gadgetry and books. If it sells. Oh please, please. Some of it, at least. QD’s supposed to be here pretty soon. Now taking bets on actual arrival time! I’m glad. We haven’t seen her in a couple of weeks and my fridge needs organizing.
We got back from breakfast and a run to the store around 1:00, logged on to WoW for a few minutes, and now I’m contemplating picking from last night’s party.
I hate that part. You spend all day cleaning for visitors, and then you have to clean up again. I would have cleaned up when they left, but it was late, and hubby had other things on his mind, if you get my drift.
My kitchen island is covered with beer bottles, and plastic plates.
The sun is starting to make an appearance here. I’m sure it won’t be here long.
Done for the day - with a few photos - the last 6 are the work we did yesterday and today. We bought a bathtub today - the unit we wanted can’t be found undamaged - all 3 Lowe’s nearby have received broken ones. So we’re going with a porcelain on steel tub and tiled walls. We’ve also decided to tile the bathroom and laundry room rather than use the wood panels.
My feet hurt and I’m covered with bruises. If my sweetie wasn’t such a, well, sweetie, you’d think he was beating me. But no, these are acquired honestly and painfully and klutzily. But things are moving right along.
Daughter is at camp. She promised to call and tell us when her day off falls so I’ll know not to do laundry that day. SIL has an appointment at an agency tomorrow as the job search continues.
So, yeah, there’s my weekend. I’m going back to get caught up on this thread, so I may post again soon…
OK, all caught up, altho I don’t remember most of what I read. Put me in the group of folks wilting/melting/steaming… When we went to get the tub, we had to take the van. The van has no air conditioning, due to a cracked compressor case, the replacement of which would cost more than the van is worth. So it was a warm ride.
I didn’t feel like cooking supper, so I had a bowl of cereal and the men in the house had sammiches. I should empty the dishwasher - maybe before I go to bed. Maybe not. I gots me a 'tude. I need a foot rub. And a vacation. Is that asking too much?
I took a nap and then started cleanin’ da cave. My bedroom, bathroom, the kitchen, laundry room, dinin’ room and livin’ room are all clean and sparklin’. Ok, not sparklin’ but you won’t catch any horrible diseases just by bein’ in 'em and that’s sump’n. I should do the guest bedroom, bathroom and study but that can wait until another night this week. Gotta keep some excitement for later.
We went and had supper at that fine dinin’ establishment known as Three Squares Diner. They make a pretty decent meatloaf. 'Twas good.
I have the new MMP all ready to go and will post it before I go to bed. After all it’s already Monday in some places, so that counts.
See y’all in the new MMP, unless I post up in here first. Ya never know with me. I’m all whimsical like that.
ETA: I have a rabbit in my back yard. A brown jackrabbit. He’s a biiiiiiiiiig rabbit!
You can borrow SpaceDawg, swampy, she’s sudden death on rabbitses… Eats 'em right up in one bite! Disgusting, yet oddly fascinating.
I pulled a metric shitload o’weeds out of the front garden, took up all the rocks in the faux stream bed and lined it with newspaper for mulch then put them all back in again. I am tres tired now, and itchy–I disturbed a HUUUUUGE nest of tiny little bitey ants and they bited me damned good. All over my feet and legs and hands, yuck yuck yuck! I took a shower and lotioned up good but I’m still kinda owwie and itchy. I HATE ANTS!!!
Now we’re trying to decide what kinda Papa Smurfy’s pizza we want for dinner because neither of us feels in the least like cooking. It looks like a chicken bacon stuffed pizza with peppers and mushrooms… mmmm, 'za!
I’m debating on whether to even cook dinner, but I guess I’ll have to do it. I don’t really want to. I wish I could just throw PB&J sanniches at the family, but somehow I don’t think Mr. Taters would care too much for that.
Dinner must include meat! If it doesn’t include MEAT, then it’s not dinner.
Ya know, plain ol’ cheese quesadillas with some roasted veggies sound good too. Again, that probably won’t happen. Ooh wait! I have some chicken boobies that I need to cook up. I can broil them along with some veggies, slice the boobies, and then make quesadillas. Win-win all around! I just had to talk it out here.
