A Stream of Consciousness MMP

Howdy Y’all! I survived work another day. Go me.

Happy Birthday KeithT. I’d sing but taxi said not to sing. Any restaurant that serves food in flames is always a good choice.

For y’all with sunburn. Whenever you are out in the sun for any length of time it is always best to wear sunscreen, even if it does not feel all that hot out. Heck, it’s even a good idea on cloudy days when it’s warm out.

Thus endeth today’s weather related issues lesson.

Ima go grill ham steaks. Ham steaks, scalloped N.O.T. and green beans for dindin.

Tuesday, right? I guess I missed Monday somehow.

Hockey Monkey, sorry to hear about that. A lot of people seem to be in that boat right now. Hope you can find something you like soon. (If I said anything else it would just sound like a doofy platitude.)

Long day and more errands after work. I go my dad some nice snacks for Father’s Day. Snacks are big in our house as they are an integral part of Happy Hour. Now I am home and working on a Diet Peach Seltzer and rum. It’s good on a hot evening. Man, I love the hot weather!

I ended up not doing any weeding for my mom this weekend (I got up there too too late on Saturday) Plus it was quite hot and she was obsessed with going to the grocery store on Sunday and getting her 15 Pentecost geraniums from church. Swampbear, you all may chant the Eucharist on Pentecost, but we get geraniums apparently. At least at my folks’ church. I don’t like geraniums, they are stinky.

The date for the play reading with Mr. Indie Film Director Guy is on the first Sunday in July. So I have plenty of time to sweat over the revisions and get nervous. Man, I hope they have booze at this meeting. I’ll bring my flask just in case.

Yeah, I know. But… I just don’t wanna. :: pouts ::

It’s finally 5:00! I’m outta here!

It’s a strange day here in Pieland… :dubious: Actually, it’s a strange week. I’m hoping for some normalcy in the next couple of days.

Problem is, CutiePie, normalcy is skeery!

Creaky I’ll trade ya stinky geraniums for a Priest who’s chanting sounds like alley cats in heat on the back fence. Actually I agree with ya about geraniums. They’re purty but stinky. They definitely belong outside where they can be admired and not smelled.

taxi young lady, you put that sunscreen on this instant! Do you want to look like a freshly boiled lobster? I didn’t think so.

Dindin was good. I still want fried poke chops though. I was hopin’ the gnawin’ and cravin’ would go away if’n I ignored it, but it’s still here. Maybe if I did it and served nice healthy chock full o’ vitamins and minerals veggies with ‘em it’d be ok. I need validation here folks! Help me rationalize how I can have fried poke chops and decide they wouldn’t be all that bad for me. If we can all agree on the medicinal value of ice cream surely we can rationalize the nutritional value of fried poke chops. I’m jonesin’ here!

Maybe I should go lie on the bed, pull the covers over my haid and take deep breaths until I pass out or until the gnawin’ and cravin’ subsides whichever comes first.

Oh, I love fried pork chops! Me and Daddy love them, and they have to be fried. So, look at it this way, they are low in carbs! So that’s some nutritional justification right there, son.

I like the way geraniums smell! Mostly because it reminds me of my grandma’s house.

Happy Birthday to KT. Even if he doesn’t read this.

I made it through just about an entire workday! (I think I missed 1/2 an hour.) Now I’m pretty tired, but I’m trying to get started on my pictures so that I’ll have at least one set organized for next week’s MMP. (Don’t worry Puggy, there will be lots of info.)

Back later, if I don’t fall asleep first.

GT

Ooooh-kay. It’s gotten weirder and so we’ve stumbled upon the only solution. We’re drinking bailey’s over ice.
Oh yeah, I tried Greek yogurt today… Ew. Tell me, Greek Yogurt Eating Mumpers, do you eat it plain or with other things? I’m willing to try it again.

The crew and passengers of the Air Frnace flight that disappeared over the Atlantic are safe . . . in Atlantis

what?

egad - I am a murderer - I killed the thread! Mea Culpa!

: shocks MMP with defibrillator :

[mad scientist]It’s alive! ALIVE!!! bwhahahahahaah![/ms]

Work went OK. Booster Club went OK, lots done, now I just gotta type up some minutes.

Pie, strong drink always takes the edge off the weirdness.

swampy, I avoid sunburn by staying inside all the time.

: email chocolate.zip to FCM :

kai, coffee or beer make the blurf go away.

CutiePie, greek yogurt may be an acquired taste, but if you get the fruit flavored Fage brand, mix some of the fruit in with the yogurt, even though it tells you not to. Frankly, I can eat it plain, I like it that way, but I suspect that’s just the way I am. You can also try it on baked potatoes, instead of sour cream - it’s way delicious and if you use the non-fat variety way less calories! Also, I have found that different brands do indeed taste different(ly?). I’ve definitely found some brands that I do NOT like the taste of.

thus endeth the daily lesson in greek yogurts. BTW, my favorite is still Mediterranee brand, frozen.

I’ve just spent the last several hours playing Sims 3. :o

It’s HAWT I tell you, HAAAAWWWWWTT! Good grief. I want to go to bed, but it’s too hot.

I think I’m going to sit under the big ceiling fan and watch a little boob tube.

First day at work since quarantine ended. Insanity does not even begin to describe the chaos today. On the bright side, the Irishman and I booked our hotel for our three days in Bangkok. Five star luxury baby. The rest of our time there we’ll be down south in Ko Samui. Just one more month and I will be on the beach, hallelujah.

Hope everyone is doing well. I’ll read back over the MMP once I get home.

What murderizes me and chops me up into teeny weeny li’l pieces is the managers who claim that, how to translate this, “we’re working on a project basis, not on an hourly basis” but apparently that’s only valid for not paying overtime. If you’re done early and all your teammates claim there’s nothing you can help them with, you’re not a team playah and must stay after hours out of solidarity. Or something.

The worst case of sunburnt I’ve seen was myself, after falling asleep on the beach; the coworkers I was with wanted to wake me up but one (who we later got additional proof was the kind of subhuman that would make maggots feel insulted if I called her one) prevented them from doing so. Years later I found out that having little bubbles all over the back of your legs counts as second degree burns, yowza!

The second worst one was a bunch of girls from my dorm, that’s all Spaniards, ie they should know better, who went down to the beach on a not-very-warm cloudy day and after three hours on the sand spent over a week screaming every time they sat down.

What, without sugar or sweetener or fruit or jam? Why would anybody do that?

Haze! Come back, you still haven’t told us about the beaches in Crete!

Halfway to the weekend, Mumpers!

The weather has cooled down a lot since yesterday so that’s a blessing, I was having trouble getting to sleep last night because it was too hot in the house and there was no breeze coming in through the windows. I know we don’t get much in the way of summer here but I still don’t like it. I’m a spring or autumn person.

'im indoors made curry yesterday, he had made the curry sauce on Sunday and put three portions in the freezer. Sadly after he’d finished, the kitchen looked like there had been a turmeric explosion followed by a localised whirlwind. Even the cats got a tinge of yellow. I pulled a pan out of the drawer yesterday to use and had to wash it first because it was yellow, inside and out…then I realised that the front of the microwave was also yellow as was the kettle. One day I’m going to ask him how he does it!

Strangely enough, my skin condition dictates that I never leave the house with moisturiser on my face that also contains SPF 15 (at least). However, I neglected the sunscreen on Saturday due to Gill’s insistence that we were clearing the garage, therefore being inside all day! The moral of the story is to never believe your friends.

:Hangs head in shame:

It was Fage nonfat yogurt… Actually, I did try to add some splenda and chocolate chips. But, I should have known it wouldn’t work because I really don’t like splenda.

morning all - up and partially caffeinated. CutiePie, try that plain non-fat Fage on a baked potato - it will taste better than sour cream. Er, if you like sour cream on baked potatoes, that is. If you don’t like splenda, try the Smuckers lower sugar preserves - they have sugar in them, a lot less than regular jams. Mix a bit of that in with the yogurt.

::wanders off in search of more coffee::

Good morning!

Mr Rebo’s grandniece and grandnephew (twins) are graduating this Saturday. That means their Grandma (Mr Rebo’s sister) will be coming into town today. We plan to have a huge BBQ Friday night to celebrate! I love throwing parties, and I don’t get to do it very often.

The menu will include babyback ribs, chicken legs, sausage, NOT salad, corn on the cob, baked beans, and a veggie tray. That oughta fill up the picky eaters as well as the vegetarian.

It’s a good thing I’m off this Friday! Plus on Saturday I’m going to my friend Marcie’s baby shower. She says they are expecting maybe 50 guests! That should be fun!

I wish I had some work to keep me busy. The last two days I’ve had maybe two hours worth each day. <sigh>

Have a good 'un!
