mmmmm - nilla ice cream with fresh strawberries sliced on top. Even better than nanner bread!
Just sayin’…
Oh, and I ran out of sugar today. Who runs out of sugar?!? Me, apparently.

At least you didn’t run out of TP. That would have been a capital offense, you know.
Getting very sleepy. Think I"ll give up and fall asleep.
Hugs to all… I know I missed a bunch.

Whew! Finally home. Thank goodness it’s my Friday. I don’t know if it’s the heat or other things, but I’m getting far too worked up about stuff at work. I’ve got to stop doing that. A three day weekend hopefully will remedy some of that.
It’s really hot out. Uncomfortably hot. It’s 94 freakin’ degrees here right now.
Time to help hubby put dinner on the table.
Hurrah! It’s Firday! In fact, today has been re-named Tyketto Day here 'cos I’m all excitipated about seeing them tonight. I had a half-hour lie-in this morning to make up for all the sleep I won’t be getting over the weekend…
Friday night, see band and get home by around midnight.
Leave home at 3am to drive to airport.
Arrive at airport at 4am. Find reserved parking space.
Check in for 6am flight.
Get breakfast.
Pour beers into ‘im indoors as he hates flying.
Get on plane.
Get off plane some time later.
Collect bags, go in search of train.
Get on train, then bus to festival site.
Spend all day putting up tent, finding bars and recovering from journey.
Watch dodgy bands.
Attempt to get a couple of hours’ sleep before being boiled out of tent.
Watch more dodgy bands, drink more beer.
Get on bus at stupidly early hour, catch train to airport.
Check in for 6am flight. Pour beer down 'im indoors for return flight.
Get off plane back in UK, collect bags, find car, drive home.
Sleeeeeep!
It’s a good job I booked Monday off…
Is it me or there seems to be a wave of blah, blegh and blurf around?
{{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}} and chocolate for all, to be distributed as needed.
Some thinking, apologizing, talking and joking later, it turns out that Lilbro will be going to Barna in good company. Even Mom (heck, even Grandma would) can see that the following would not be a positive way to introduce the rest of the family (the lady already knows Middlebro, SiL and the Kidlets):
“here, honey, that big thing there’s the Sagrada Familia. Take a good look, cos they’re building the new railroad for the high speed train right under its seaside street, so it may not be there once the train starts running. While you go in with a guide, I’ll drop by and see my grandparents, ok, they live right here? Unless you prefer to come, but in that case remember that if Gramps grabs you, you’re supposed to hit him as hard as you can, it’s ok to use elbows, shoes, hardcover books and irons. Oh, and I hope you don’t mind the smell of shit, although the cleaning lady was in Thursday so it shouldn’t be so bad today…”
Blurf. Grumble. I got a decent amount of sleep last night, but I’m still demotivated above and beyond the call of duty for a Firday.
Something funny I saw this morning I have to pass along. It monsooned all last night, and there’s some urban flooding happening near work. I was following a Toyota [del]Smugmobile[/del]Prius, and it came to a complete stop in front of a patch of water covering the road, then waded through at less than walking speed. I knew how deep the water was, and stomped the gas and gave several gruff snorts of contempt as I went through the water and around the [del]Smugmobile[/del]Prius.
I know they have a lot of batteries, and the driver was playing safe because of it, but still… ;)
Well, I’m working the golf tourney today- which basically means spending most of the day on the deck sipping a cocktail. All in the name of charity, of course!
Supposed to rain, but that’s ok- they have an indoor lounge too!
Good morning all - up and caffeinated, at work and early too.
{{{{{{Dotty}}}}} - 16 hour days are  X2. Hope that things will get back to normal soon.
And {{{{{{Swampy}}}}}} - the blahs hit all of us from time to time. Extra hugs available to anyone who needs or wants them, btw.
And lastly,
HAPPY FIRDAY!!!
Woo hoo!
What’s so bad about TelCo? It’s wonderful and stimulating and fun and rewarding. Best industry in the world to work, if you ask me.
Why yes, I am drinking Kool-Aid. Would you like some?
LiLi, I’m going to be humming that damn song all day now. Grrrr.
Also, it seems that I managed to land myself with a lovely summer cold/flu/whatever. Since it’s a beautiful sunny Friday and I’ve just gotten back from vacation, though, I had to drag my ass into work anyways because it would have looked far too suspicious if I’d called in sick.
::hurriedly scrawls sugar on grocery list:: :o
gotti funny goggie story.
{{{{swampy and dotty}}}}
House and car are alright. Pool full. Frogs were back this morning.
Happy Firday to all.
Dept. Head is cranky today so off to work.
Tupug
Blurf.
I realized yesterday at work that I graduated from high schol 15 years ago this week. My 22-year-old coworker laughed at me when I told her. Children. g
I have an appointment in a couple of weeks to get wisdom tooth number 5 (yes, I have extra ones on top, and one of them’s coming in! It’s MamaTig’s fault.) and another tooth out. I am not looking forward to this. But it needs doing.
Payday! And Firday…though tomorrow is actually my Firday. But payday is always nice, especially seeing as my rent is due and stuff.
When I was a bachelor, I moved in to an apartment in a complex that was part of Indianapolis known as ‘The Herpes Triangle’, for the number of singles and their collective reputation for not keeping their pants on.
I spotted a very cute fem neighbor, got a cup of sugar, and went knocking on her door.
“You didn’t borrow any sugar from me…”
“I know, but I will.”
Morning. Still no a/c guy, but at least it’s cool and rainy.
snowbunny, I graduated 20 years ago. Now git offa my lawn!
Happy Firday, everybody!
Yeah, I thought running out of sugar was a time-honored way to meet your neighbors!
My husband’s up to 10 years from high school this year (not going to the reunion though), and I’m at 12 years.
It’s going to be in the 50s here tomorrow! That’s cold for June! Time to spend the day at home baking. I’m thinking cookies and bread. And some soup for good measure.
Sunday I’m going to try making Whoopie Pies from this recipe. New Coworker’s birthday is Tuesday but he’s going home this weekend so he’ll get cake there. I wanted something different to bring in. Should be fun.
FCM, it could be worse. One time I ran out of both sugar AND flour, which I didn’t realise until the cake was already partly mixed. :smack:
Thankfully, I’d just bought butter and eggs the day before, or else I would’ve felt like a total dumbass.
I graduated 13 years ago. Nyah nyah.
(yeah, I know… I’m still old, but at least I’m not THAT old)
I graduated in 1977. I’m officially old.
Cheer up, Swampy! You won the Feud!
I’m off today, and just got back from taking the aminals to the PARK! They had a good time. I gave them baths and they’re crashed out.
I’m going to the store shortly, to gather all the food for the BBQ tonight. I have to get those ribs on early so they’ll be tender!
Just gonna surf a bit more…
Back from the beach and sunburned. I’m so glad I have a healthy aloe plant in my room.
Now to pick up some boxes from the Food Kitty so I can start packing. Can I have a Star Trek transporter to help me move my stuff please? Science, you’re failing me on this.
See? I told you it was no good! As for the sugar, we run out all the time. Invisible Tenant likes a lot of sugar in his coffee. Normal people might use a teaspoon from the sugar bowl. He uses the scoop from the canister.
Nah, your just a baby. Tupug, Class of '66
Good morning everyone.
It’s supposed to be somewhat cooler today. It doesn’t feel like it in the house, though. I’m hot and feel dehydrated. I’m drinking a cool glass of water right now.
I graduated high school in 1982; 27 years ago. Ack! I just now did the math. What the hell?! I’m not that old! I can’t be!
Since I rarely bake, the only time I notice I’m out of sugar is when Mr. Taters can’t sweeten his coffee. I take mine black, so it doesn’t occur to me to buy sugar very often.
I’m glad it’s Friday and that I’m home. I’m tired. I slept until 8:30 this morning.
