A Stream of Consciousness MMP

Graduated from High school in 1980. That’s almost 30 years ago

No, I’m not old, just not as young as I used to be

Sign me up for some “meh,” please.

Jeez, sounds like hard work! Need some help doing it?

High school: 1979
College Mark 1: 1984
Mark 2: 2005

Forty is the old age of youth. Fifty is the youth of old age.

Evenin’ all. Started work at 9:30am this morning, got to the office by 12, came home by 7:30pm and still haven’t finished (it’s 9:16pm now). Did I mention this is supposed to be my weekend?

Oh - high school was over and done with in 1990! Not as old as some, but it still feels like ancient history!

I graduated high school in 1998 at the age of 18. I know exactly how long it’s been since you graduated.

I think I got sun poisoning along with my sunburn. I felt sick and shaky this morning. And then I get a day of packing and another long trip across the state tomorrow! And then next weekend I get to do it again! HOORAY.

Poor Dotty. Will they be compensating you with some time in lieu when it’s all over and done with, at least?

Just 100 minutes to go before my weekend begins. Tick tock, tick tock. Wish I didn’t have to lug my 100lb laptop home tonight, because it’s perfect weather for walking home.

Hee, you guys are old! points and laughs

Good news! A coworker had her first baby this morning (last night? 2 AM, anyway). It’s a boy, which we didn’t know beforehand, and he’s – sit down and cross your legs, ladies – 9 1/2 pounds! Perhaps it’s just as well she ended up having a c-section. But everybody is doing fine. We’re all very happy for her.

Howdy Y’all! No blah today. Even though tomorrow is my Firday. I can deal.

Ok, various and sundry comments to follow…

So far Puggy is our official old person. :stuck_out_tongue: I graduated high school in 1972 as did a certain Old Broad who is six months and six days older than me who shall remain nameless but she knows who she is.

taxi around here we call whoopie pies moon pies.

Runnin’ out of sugar is marginally forgiveable sin, not a grievous, unforgiveable, mortal sin like runnin’ out of tp as gt mentioned.

Soapy the only good thing about golf is the alcohol. Matter of fact, I have long since given up playin’ golf and just head right to the club house like any sane person should.

Ouch on the wisdom teeth snowbunny! Hope it all goes ok. Yay for co-worker’s new baby!

Poor sunburnt Spaz! Just why is it you are traipsin’ back and forth over Nawth Keerlina so much?

{{{Dotty}}} just cause you need it for all that work.

Oh, just so’s y’all and especially Creaky know, tonight I fry me some poke chops.

Funny - just today at work I realized that I graduated 37 years ago! Only **Puggy **has me beat!! So let’s have some respect for the Grande Dames of the MMP! <insert royal wave>

The rain is just about done, thank goodness. Two loverly days ahead according to the forecast - a good chance to dry out. I know we’re working on the boat tomorrow. No idea what’s on tap for Sunday. Don’t care. It’s the weekend!!!

Now, what to do for supper… Maybe BBQ?? mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm BBQ…

For the burn the most sooting thing I’ve found is the Aloe w/ lidocane. It’s usually a blue gel. If it hurts too bad to rub on, you can also find it in a spray.

Unfortunately, I speak from experience having suffered the worst sunburn of my life a couple of weeks ago down in the islands. More dumb than unprepared, I didn’t use any spf because I wanted some sun. I’ve now peeled all over… twice.

How mean of them. I can assure you time in me is no picnic at all.

:smack:

I guess that should be time in N.O.l.

(lower case “l” required due to the fact that N.O.L has already been appropriated for Lunch)

swampus, you’ve gone and given me a vicious Moon Pie craving. They’re awful hard to find 'round these parts, too, which means I’ll probably have to find some sort of reasonable alternative… damned if I know what, though.

Spaz, are you available noonish tomorrow for an in-person howdy?

I’ll kiss your sunburn to make it better…

I actually managed to get a couple of chores done today. I’m taking a five minute Diet Coke break, and then I’ll start again.

I looked around my house and just shuddered. That motivated me to get off my ass and start vacuuming. That dog mine is a shedding machine. Light colored carpeting and a black lab mix do not make a pretty sight.

Also, the dang dog urped that bile stuff up on the carpet and I didn’t see it until today. He’s been awfully “urpy” lately. Just that green or yellow bile, but still, it’s a pain to get out of the carpet.

Big hugs to Dotty. Those are some horrendous hours. How are you keeping your eyes propped open?!

I’d hug you too, Spaz, but I don’t think you want anyone touching you now.

Back to my chores.

Oh, my daughter told me something rather funny this morning. She was planning to meet some friends at the mall and then go to lunch today. She informed that one of her friends is on restriction and can’t make it. What’s humorous about it, is that her friend is a sophomore in college. Her mother is very strict.

How about some chocolate pudding pie with whipped cream? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve baked the pie shell, and the pudding is in the fridge. NOT’s are cooked for the NOT salad, as are the boiled aigs. Gotta have boiled aigs in the NOT salad.

The house is spiffified, except for this room, which just needs dusting. I’ll get on that in just a minute.

Mr Rebo is out getting last minute stuff - like ICE! And refilling the extra propane tank just in case.

Ribs are on the grill, and they smell, to quote some old broad, yummerific!

Later!

Muppet, no time in lieu (Thank Og, but no offence! ;)), just hopefully a nice bonus next year (assuming management’s memory is that long). What is really pissing me off is that the deal was supposed to close tonight, but thanks to some jerk-off in the Channel Islands, we are probably not going to close for another few days. In one sense, it’s nice to have another few days to wrap it up, but in the other sense, it means I will still have to work tomorrow and it will still be occupying my time on Sunday as well, when I had hoped to clear all the other crap off my pending list that’s been piling up since the deal started requiring my full attention 6 days ago! Sigh …

I think I can be around about then. I may bite anyone who touches my burn.

I’ve finally got my car all packed up except for a couple of things that’ll have to go in the front seat. I’m tired and evil. I may bite someone just for relief.

Let it be known that I hate people who call me and when I answer say “Who dis?” Next time I’m going to say I’m Death and that I’ll be coming for them tomorrow.

URP Excuse me. The fried poke chops were teh nummeh! I ate three of ‘em. Ol y’all know who et the other three. That’s right. I only fried six. The other six in the pack are marinatin’ in Eyetalian sallit dressin’ and will turn into grilled poke chops for Monday dindin. I’m bein’ taken out to dine tomorrow night and Sunday is brunch Sunday at church so that’ll take care of any big eatin’ that needs to happen.

Speakin’ of Sunday, ol y’all know who is gettin’ confirmed. YAY! Thus we have invitated peoples which means extra stuff must be made to bring to brunch. So, tomorrow I shall make a big ‘nanner puddin’ and a chicken/broccoli casserole. Mind y’all, this is after workin’ all day too. He dang well better “appreciate” this!

He doesn’t know it yet, but as a present I am givin’ him a really nice silver cross on a silver chain. The cross has the date engraved on the back. He’ll get it after it’s been blessed by the Bishop. I’m just too good to him ain’t I!

I could go prep stuff for tomorrow’s cookathon but I won’t. I’s tahred!

lieu I trust you too have learned your lesson about usin’ spf, young man? :dubious: Ask the others. You don’t want me to have to lecture you.

Oh geez! Don’t encourage him!

I have now been working for [checks watch] over 16 hours and I still can’t go to bed. I’m tired and fed up with this stoopid deal and these stoopid documents. :frowning:

Yanno, the above exchanges demonstrate one of the reasons I love **lieu’s **name…

And yes, lieu, you really don’t want swampy yelling at you.

Those long days sound exhausting, Dotty. Hope you’re past them really soon.

And that trip sounds like fun, BooFae.

I graduated from high school 33 years ago…tomorrow, I think.

Chocolate pudding pie with whipped cream sounds yummeriffic, Rebo. I’m thinking of making chocolate eclairs/profiteroles over the weekend. I want to take something French to work next week and figured I’d practice. We made them at Faraway Best Friend’s house a couple of years ago and they were VERY good and not all that difficult, really.

Gotta get moving with my pictures and stuff…

It’s the weekend!!! Yay!!!

Hugs and chocolate all around.

GT

We went out for BBQ for supper. Now we’re back and I’m about to assume the knit posture. Gonna sign off - see ya tomorrow!

MWAH!!

I’ve been off napping, so am a bit more awake now.

I graduated in 1970, so next year will be my 40th reunion - they’re already in the planning stages, I think. I turn 57 in September. That still leaves Puggy as the Grande Dame.

Waiting for Chinese, which was called in and is being delivered. I’m getting a combo platter, shrimp lo mein, which will come with fried rice and an egg roll. This is a (so far) really good Chinese place; last time, I got their house special steak and cheese, and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a while. Of course, the Chinese food is delicious as well.

So glad that it’s Friday and now the weekend! Hugs for Dotty, and hoping that her (forced) overtime will be over soon.
