A Substitute fun MMP(now elbow free!)

Obviously not to forget.

I have become extremely crabby.

It’s irrational to yell at your best friend because she can’t spell another friend’s name correctly. Right? (Caroline vs. Carolyn)

I did not yell. But, honestly we’ve all known each other for almost 20 years now.

Rationality doesn’t enter into. Available resources to maintain an even keel do. You’ve been under tons of stress, depleting your resources. Apologize to your bud and give yourself a break.

{{{Scones}}}

Thank you phoukaroo. I didn’t yell at her, though. I didn’t say anything at all about it because I knew it was a silly thing to be upset about.

 Sandy is going to collide with a cold front coming in from the Midwest and make SNOW!!!

You know that thing about brownies? Well, there are two different stories that I’ve found concerning who was the first to make them. One of the stories is about a woman named Bertha Palmer. This is the story I ended up going with because she is a very interesting lady.

She was married to Potter Palmer who built the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago (the supposed makers of the first brownies). She did all kinds of things to promote women’s rights. She was also a a diplomat, philanthropist, and real estate tycoon after her husband passed away.

The Palmer House Hotel was built and then destroyed 13 days after its grand opening and then rebuilt and opened two years later and then rebuilt again after that. It’s the nation’s oldest hotel that’s been in continual operation since 1875. And the pictures look absolutely beautiful. The restorations which started in 2007 were $170 million dollars.

I could go on and bore you some more about her and the hotel, but I won’t.

My daughter is 27. My sister still spells her name wrong, using the less-popular alternate spelling. What 'cha gonna do??

Home, but not for long. We’re going to the Fall Festival fund raiser at Daughter’s school. We’ll eat supper there - it’s part of the fund raiser and the school is in a poor part of the county, so our coupla bucks can make a difference. Plus I don’t have to cook, so yay!

Three days in a row, we came home to voice mail - all regarding the impending elections. I will be soooooooooo glad when all the campaigning is done - have I mentioned that in the last 5 minutes?? :stuck_out_tongue:

Work is swapping out all our cell phones. So, I got a new phone.

Which I don’t want.

Because I can barely keep my own personal cell phone charged up and on my body.

But eventually (in November), I’m going to be on call again.

Hell. Spite. Grrrrrrrr.

people at irk not being much of a help. I told them I didn’t know how to do the cost analysis and they took all day, so I went a head and tried it myself because the client requesting it needed it before EOD, and then irk calls them and lets them know that there is a problem doing the analysis and now I look stupid because I did it and already returned it to them. Why did irk call MY client without telling me, and this was after they took all day not to do what I asked them to do in the first place?

Oops, late for the happy burfdying:

Happy Birthday Rebo!!

Spent most of the day defilthifiying the house, and doing silly errands I’ve been putting off, the parents are coming for the weekend, so I have to pretend to be a responsible adult for a few days.

They’re due any time from now (it’s a long drive anyway, but traffic at ye Great Bottleneck of Birmingham can delay it for anything up to 4 hours), and I’ve suddenly realised I have only a teeny tiny bit of milk left- and I bet if I went to the shop, they’d show up while I’m not there (both are luddites, and don’t really use mobile phones), and it does seem ill mannered to leave them on the doorstep after a 5 hour drive.
Hope they make it before the shop shuts, or I’ll have a choice between driving to the 24 hour supermarket, which I don’t really like doing late on friday night, or having no milk in the cawfee, which I really don’t like doing. Such a terrible dilemma.

Was going to do some more felting while I was waiting around, but broke the felting needle I’ve been using for weeks- so I got my last spare needle out and it just snapped in minutes. Bah.
Had to stop mid-frog.

Anyways, happy weekend, hope the naughty weather stays away!

And that Apes is why it is called, most appropriately, irk.

Pizza has been ingested along with a couple of refreshin’, sanity restorin’ beerverages. All is good.

StickyBuns you mean no Hamburger Helper and Mrs. O’Leary’s cow?

flytrap indeed I do not drink to forget. I want to remember. I want to remember for the day I assume my rightful place as Emporer of The Universe. I want to remember those who have peeved, irked, poed and generally caused unpleasantness to come into my life. They shall answer for their misdeeds. Oh yeah, they shall answer. I shall then inflict painful paper cuts upon them and offer them lemon juice to cleanse their wounds.

Maybe I need another beerverage instead.

A joke, because I desire to tell it.

Two brooms were hanging in the closet and
after a while they got to know each other so
well, they decided to get married.

One broom was, of course, the bride broom,
the other the groom broom.
The bride broom looked very beautiful in her
white dress. The groom broom was handsome
and suave in his tuxedo. The wedding was
lovely.

After the wedding, at the wedding dinner, the
bride-broom leaned over and said to the groom-broom,
‘I think I am going to have a little whisk broom!’

‘IMPOSSIBLE !’ said the groom broom.

Are you ready for this?

Brace yourself; this is going to hurt!!!

WE HAVEN’T EVEN SWEPT TOGETHER!

Thank You! I’ll be here all week! Tip the veal! Try the waitstaff!

Bad swampy! No biscuit!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! BAAAAAAAD!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Home from the fall festival, which was cute. We got to see daughter’s classroom, which looks really nice - she did a good job setting up this year. Then we went to Steamer’s for supper and now we’re home. Long day and I’s tahred. I think it might be a melatonin night.

Yay, got paid for the first time for my new job today. So, it is possible, and the auto-deposit does work. Now to find out how much each paycheck is supposed to be, and when they’re supposed to get deposited.

But still. Paid. Now I can buy me more insulin & food & gas while I wait for the next one.

Congrats,** Ethilrist**!!

Today has been completely blurf.

But while MrTao was in Mexicali last night for a bachelor party, he saw gas there came out to 2.80 a gallon. Almost worth the border wait time, lol.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 62 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 79. Accordin’ to the weather PTB next week we shall have lows in the 40s. Well, BRRRRRR! Speakin’ of weather, Mumpers in the path of the storm, be safe!

Yay for payday Ethi! Yestiddy was my payday too. I likes payday.

Ok, now I need more caffiene and should feed rumbly tummy. Today’s agenda includes mowage of OYKW’s yahd cause it needs it bad. Fun times!

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Happy Caturday, folks! Temperatures over here have dropped considerably since mid-week and I am contemplating putting the winter-weight duvet on the bed. I’m only contemplating because I can’t take the other duvet off until Shadow has finished with it. Well, you can’t disturb a sleeping cat, can you?

I have a few errands to do it town this afternoon and then I’m getting my hair cut. I’ve been looking forward to that all week and once it’s done I’ll be able to see properly again! I have a plan to make beef and butternut lasagne tonight from a Fat Club recipe so I kind of don’t hold out much hope for it because it’s one of their low-fat recipes but I’ll see how it turns out. I might be pleasantly surprised.

Since I went to bed late last night and slept in this morning, I have skipped brekkie. Thus I am considering a large bowl of porridge to start my afternoon before I have to venture outside in the cold. There’s nothing wrong with having breakfast for N.o.L, right?

I watched “Battleship” last night, it wasn’t too bad and I was amused at the old battleship game idea plus the cross between Transformers and Power Rangers!

Not unless you like being covered in scratches.

BooFae of course there’s nuttin’ wrong with it. It’s called brunch. I am considerin’ goin’ back to bed for a bit. Or not. Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!
