Menopause sucks. Chemo-induced early menopause, coupled with a heatwave and a feverish, clinging 2 year old, is truly all kinds of f*cked up.

Went antiquing, bought some shoes, had dinner with friends, went to gay bingo. Nice day off but I think we’ll sleep in late tomorrow and hit a late service somewhere.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin and cloudy out with a predicted high of 78 and mostly cloudy for the day. We could also have rain. Or not. TWPTB are bein’ all wishy-washy about the rain. The big plan for the day is to deheathenate and attend the meetin’ about the Parish survey. The survey becomes part of the Parish profile, or whatever it’s called, sent to Priests who are interested in becomin’ our new Rector. This findin’ a new Priest bidness is a slooooooooow process.

flytrap glad you liked the addition of parsnips and turnips. I like a good roast or stew with root veggies.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then at some point we must commence purtification for deheathenization.
{{{Dotty}}} I have never had chemo, but I did get the early menopause at 35, and it does suck mightily. Hot flashes are no fun. Good thought beamed your way!!
Slept more or less till nearly 7! Guess I was tahred. But I’m up now, all critters have been kibbled, and I’m finishing the last bites of leftover pizza for breakfast. I pulled a chunk of chuck roast out of the freezer yesterday, and today, it’s going to become crock pot pot roast. Highly unlikely that I’ll seek a parsnip or a turnip to add to the pot.
I need to draft a note to the car guys - we’re dropping off the Sonata at the garage tonight for its 120K servicing tomorrow. I get to drive the truck tomorrow. rah.
Yesterday was mostly dreary and overcast, and it appears tomorrow will offer more of the same. There’s a chance of showers this afternoon, so an excellent chance that we won’t be leaving the house except to deliver the car. I still haven’t cleaned the water fountain, but that’s a fairly quick chore, and I have to empty the dishwasher and scalp my sweetie. I expect much knittage will occur today.
Apparently, the new way to make a little extra money is to be hired to protest at Republican town hall meetings. Damn the luck, I live in a state with mostly Democrats in the house and senate. Wonder if I’ll get paid for the March for Science in DC in April?
I’m waiting for a friend to pick up the kid bag. I got up in the middle of the night with a belly bug and still need to be mere steps from the commode. After she leaves, I’m going back to bed with a cup of tea.
Speaking of t-shirts I can now wear again a shirt I had to put away for many years. It’s a picture of the White House and the words say “REGIME CHANGE BEGINS AT HOME”
I finally decided it was time to shower, and I feel so much more able to face the day. I’ve got a little chuck roast in my little crock pot, but there’s not space for many veggies. I think I’ll toss an onion and some carrots in there, then cook the N.O.T.s and onions separately. But it’s smelling yum!
I also cleaned the dried doggie doo of the bottoms of my slippers - stoopit dog pooped in my mom’s computer room and I walked thru it in the dark and dragged it thru her house. The slippers are on the pellet stove to dry, then I’ll put them on.
So - empty dishwasher? Iron shirts? Play on computer? Decisions, decisions…
Did my once-every-two-months-sugar-overload and got a half-dozen hot from the oil Krispy Kreme glazed donuts and ate them all in one sitting (gluttonly, I know, is one of the seven deadly sins, but I’ll takes me chances).
Almost 70F this morning, but supposed to get cooler the rest of the week (30’s-50’s F). Still, my gas bill will not be the thing of horror it often is this time of year.
Despise this time of year, because it drives me up the wall collecting the paperwork to file for US taxes. I have to do them as early as possible, and it costs me $500-$600 to file – even though I make no money in the US and end up not owing anything every year.
Howdy Y’all! Home from deheathenization and Parish meetin’. N.O.L. has been ingested and I foresee nappage soonest. I woke up early this mornin’ and feel sleepified.
