Looks like crossed wires. The “noun, verb, 9/11” crack was, TtBoMK, about Rudy (although I confess to not having known that Biden originated it). I think the “no finer man” praise of Biden was attributed to Lindsey Graham.
The action alleges breach of California privacy law. How does California come into it? I thought the laptop shop was in Delaware, and Rudy and Costello operate out of New York?
And an aside: like many of Trump’s former lawyers, Rudy’s former lawyer now needs a lawyer.
Good question. I read the complaint (link in the CNN article). They filed this in Federal Court in California and alleged that venue was proper. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a motion to change venue, but they might have enough to keep it in CA.
Venue is proper in this judicial district pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1391(b)(2) and (b)(3), as it is where a substantial part of the events or omissions giving rise to the claim alleged in this complaint occurred or because one or more Defendant is subject to the Court’s personal jurisdiction with respect to this action.
And apparently also alleged a breach of California computer privacy laws, which suggests Hunter is alleging some strong connection to California on the facts, wouldn’t it?
Hunter is alleging protection of the California privacy laws. Those may or may not be effective for violations in New York. I’m skeptical, but there have probably been prior cases I don’t know about that clarify the question. We’ll know in about 30 days.
