A thread for Rudy {Rudy Giuliani}

10 posts were split to a new topic: Company Towns (spun off of A thread for Rudy Giuliani)

three of the people in Rudy’s orbit have been subpoenaed to testify about their financial dealings with him. Plaintiffs’ lawyer suggested to the court that the three are in a plan with Rudy to hide his assets, while still allowing him access to them, through a company that they set up.

Rudy Giuliani Shows Up To Vote In Lauren Bacall’s Mercedes After Hiding The Car In Florida

I’m reminded of this scene from Superman III:

Ross Webster: He’ll keep a low profile and won’t do a thing to call attention to himself. Unless, of course, he is a complete and utter moron.
Gus Gorman: (drives up in brand new sports car)

Rudy is clearly begging for Trump to save him by showing up for the inauguration. Still doesn’t understand that he’s a crushed can that’s been thrown to the curb.

This seems to be the same cycle a lot of MAGAs are caught in. Back when Rudy needed money and asked Trump to pay his legal bills, he didn’t. Then Rudy, even more desperate for money, asked Trump to throw him a fundraiser. Trump would’ve needed to do little other than show up and talk for a while and Rudy could’ve charged however many (tens of) thousands of dollars per plate that he wanted to. Trump declined. Now he’s back begging again and he’s going to get nothing again.

The last decade has been like watching half the country going back to their abusive ex or toxic ‘friend’ over and over and over, not realizing that it won’t be any different this time, no matter what he says.

I’m waiting with bated breath for Elon Fuckin’ Musk, co-leader of a non-existent cabinet post to realize the same thing.

Let’s not forget he already did this once. He had some type of position in the White House in 2016 and, IIRC, only lasted a few weeks.

Also, and this I’m genuinely curious about, all those MAGAs that were blocking Tesla Super Chargers with their giant coal rollers; how are they reconciling that with Musk being fully MAGA? I assume they’re just burying their heads in the sand, but what would happen if a reporter confronted someone blocking a charger and asked them how they felt about Musk now?

And with that, I wonder what would happen if a reporter asked Musk to condemn the pick up truck drivers that do that. I’m not sure how he’d react. I haven’t heard him speak much, but I’m guessing he can’t think as fast as a politician (or even Trump in a situation like this) to deflect and/or give a non-answer. ie “Elon, several cities around the country have been having problems with people using their pick up trucks, adorned with Trump/MAGA flags, to block your super charges and prevent Tesla owners from using them. Do you condemn that activity?” Can Musk quickly come up with something like “That’s something for local law enforcement to sort out”.

And, to be clear, I’m not counting Tesla owners blocking (or calling the police about) non Teslas using ‘their’ chargers, that, as far as I can tell, is entirely different and entirely non-political, unrelated issue.

Giuliani demands court delays his trial

Demand into one hand, crap into the other, and let us know which one fills up first.

Usually that’s just a pithy expression, but I would not be at all surprised if Guiliani literally did that.

Being MAGA requires you to hold countless conflicting beliefs simultaneously anyway, so it’s probably pretty easy.

Usually when I see a MAGA person get confronted by a reporter, they struggle, but it’s because they aren’t used to having anyone challenge any of their beliefs.

In any case, why isn’t Rudy just rolling around in all that coffee money?

I don’t remember that one way or another but I do remember the council of businesses he convened, that rarely met and whose minimal advice he never listened to, so it eventually disbanded, but I think that took a year or so.

That’s why I added the “what if a reporter asked them” part. I’m sure we all have internal conflicts that we ignore, but some of these MAGA ones are pretty big and I’d like to see a camera and reporter back them into a corner and ask them to justify their behavior.

That and some of them just don’t understand what they’re talking about. Here’s a case (assuming it’s all real) of someone happy that Trump is going to get rid of Obamacare while not realizing that getting rid of Obamacare “also” means getting rid of ACA, which has helped him. This is what happens when you get ALL your news from one source.

That Syndrome pic really sums that whole thread up.

The hate is embedded, and wont go away just with trump saying “buy more teslas”. Musk screwed up, now both sides hate him.

“Schrodinger’s Mexican- at once taking our jobs away and being too lazy to work”.

My brother (a white American dude like me (surprise!)) is in construction in SoCal. Plenty of Mexican laborers to be had.

His rule of thumb is 1 Mexican does the useful work of 3 black Americans or 5 white Americans.

The only time he’ll hire non-Mexican labor is when he can’t get Mexican labor. The best by far.

He pays well and the same regardless of origin. I’m talking results per hour, not per dollar.

But the judge questioned Giuliani’s alleged struggle to secure paperwork to hand over his 1980 Mercedes vehicle, saying Giuliani’s prior job as the top federal prosecutor in Manhattan was a sign he was fully competent.

That prompted Giuliani, 80, to speak up, complaining that his day-to-day life had been hamstrung by the election workers.

ah, poor dear.

The scheduled Jan. 16 trial will address whether Giuliani must surrender property in Florida and sports memorabilia.

Liman separately rejected Giuliani’s request to delay the trial so he could attend events connected to Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration. Cammarata said Giuliani still regularly consults with Trump.

“The defendant’s social calendar does not constitute due cause,” Liman said.

seriously! giuliani is still able to hang out around trump? trump hasn’t cut him off??!??

And Rudy’s calling the judge “as left as they come.” Except that Judge Liman was appointed by Trump. I’m sure that will ingratiate him to His Honor.

And what he did to their day-to-day lives is the reason he’s in court now.

Rudy continues to be a cesspit of infinite depth.

No, but he’s relegated to the kids’ table.
