Here’s hoping the news of Rudy’s getting stiffed ( I almost said screwed but no one needs those images in their head) will convince other people in Trump’s decaying orbit to flip.
I would like to know how much electronic record storage, now archived, can be priced at US$ 20 000 a month?
I pay Google for lots of data, with instant access to that data, in the region of three orders of magnitude less than US$ 20 000. I mean, that is 3 x my salary.
Also I would like Mr. Guiliani, now debarred former attorney, to choose to represent himself, because the car-crash would be spectacular.
A relevant pit thread: WAY more than you wanted to know about Rudy Giuliani
I store 5TB on Wasabi fir about $30/month.
I was wondering why he pays so much to store his documents. Seriously, for what he’s paying he could buy his own server or two or rent space on the cloud. He’s really getting ripped off. I can see why he has to scrimp on other areas, like buying the hair dye that runs down his face.
I cannot feel an ounce of sympathy for this monster. To use his public personna to viciously attack those Georgia poll workers and accuse them of rigging the election, passing drugs back and forth, and much more is far beyond the pale. He’s full of bigotry and hatred. He sexually harrassed his female staff. He’s without redeeming qualities. The sooner his sorry ass goes to prison for life, the better.
Well, sure. But Trump is an equal opportunity cheat. He stiffs contractors and lawyers alike, and has been doing it for decades. Contract. . .no contract…it doesn’t matter to this cheap, lying, cheating SOB. Why anyone anywhere would ever work for this guy is beyond me.
$20000 to store data??? He is either getting seriously ripped off, or they are doing more than just storing it.
Every time one of these guys gets in trouble, it comes to light that they pay way more for things then you’d think they have to. What “files” does he have that are that expensive to store electronically? Our firm has 100s of clients and some cases that involve over a hundred thousand documents. We don’t pay anything close to that for storage. When you think about what Rudy is charged with, you realize it’s not a paper-intensive charge. Maybe a couple dozen emails and some texts. I suppose he has some memos from idiots telling him about the fraud in the election. He has Hunter’s hard drive. And that’s about it. He could probably store everything on one external hard drive for $31.00
$20,000 a month for electronic document storage??? That’s the real story here…
Maybe it’s $30 to store it…and $19970 to not look at it and find things they’d feel obligated to report to the authorities. (IOW, I suspect blackmail payoffs or money laundering is involved.)
Good point.
I thought maybe the exorbitant fee could be paying for a ‘librarian’. Someone to find what he’s looking for. But that doesn’t really make sense if there is any criminal activity in there. Crooks don’t generally give other people ‘The keys to Kingdom’. Stupid crooks might though.
Maybe it’s an asshole tax. I have a few clients at work who are assholes, so I charge them more than everyone else, hoping they’ll go away.
At one of my old jobs, the guy who developed project cost estimates had a line item in his estimation spreadsheet entitled “PITA Surcharge.”
If we suspected that a client was going to be a pain in the ass to work with (which usually entailed having to spend more hours on the project to address their demands), we added that in there.
Is it possible these ‘electronic records’ are stored on hard drives installed on computers and it’s the computers that are in storage?
I could see him racking up much higher fees if he has dozens or hundreds or laptops, PCs, tablets etc in storage units all over town.
In fact, that might make sense if you consider the possibility that protecting the data is secondary to making sure it’s not in his office/home should he be served with a search warrant.
Rudy is “excited” that he’s in trouble because it will be a good fight .
"We’re going to beat these fascists into the ground, " he says.
I long ago nominated Rudy as Most Likely to Commit Suicide before all is said and done.
To myself, of course.
BBWWAAHHAHHHAAAAHHH!!!
I mean, wow, I had a low opinion of Giuliani but I didn’t think he was quite this stupid. Sure, stupid enough to hold an election event at a landscape parking lot, but stupid enough to have a handshake agreement with Donald Trump about getting paid? That’s a whole 'nother level of stupid, altogether.
Rudy is stupid about technology. He insisted that election workers in Georgia were “passing around USB ports”. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone told Rudy that it costs $20K a month to store all of his files securely, then set up a cloud service on some provider that costs them $20 a month. Rudy doesn’t know any better, and clearly just believes whatever crap people tell him without checking.
So you’re saying he’ll beat at least one fascist into the ground?
He might. And that person would be among my top picks.
