I want a comedy in which Rudy and trump get rescued by RW militias, and spend years being shuttled amongst increasingly crappy safehouses.

Though midway through the story, Donald would have to ruthlessly betray Rudy for it to have any plausibility.
Speaking of which, is there ever going to be a point where Trump throwing people under the bus will catch up to him? You’d think given how well-known Rudy Giuliani is, how much he did publicly to defend and advocate for Trump, and how badly he was treated, that should resonate. Most of the other people who were screwed over weren’t as well-known and did things behind the scenes. This is all very public. Rudy was “America’s Mayor” after all.
I’m thinking that at some point R&t get sequestered in a well stocked cabin in Idaho, and get snowed in. The only audience for trump’s tirades is a drunken, gibbering Rudy. They both start hallucinating and interacting with ghosts from their pasts. It might be a musical, who knows?

Rudolph W. Giuliani is running out of money and looking to collect from a longtime client who has yet to pay: former President Donald J. Trump.
To recover the millions of dollars he believes he is owed for his efforts to keep Mr. Trump in power, Mr. Giuliani first deferred to his lawyer, who pressed anyone in Mr. Trump’s circle who would listen.
When that fizzled out, Mr. Giuliani and his lawyer made personal appeals to the former president over a two-hour dinner in April at his Mar-a-Lago estate and in a private meeting at his golf club in West Palm Beach.
When those entreaties largely failed as well, Mr. Giuliani’s son, Andrew, who has an independent relationship with the former president, visited Mr. Trump at his club in New Jersey this month, with what people briefed on the meeting said was the hope of getting his father’s huge legal bills covered.
That appeared to help. Mr. Giuliani’s son asked that Mr. Trump attend two fund-raisers for the legal bills, and the former president agreed to do so, the people said.

I keep reading the thread title as A Thread for You Rudy.
I wasn’t aware that Rudy and Trump’s relationship went back so far. He’s been marinating in Donnie’s aura for years. And I still feel sorry for him, as I do for Trump. Absolute power, or even getting close to it, really does corrupt.
Call it what it is; Former ultra right wing president trump caught on tape motorboating a drag queen while making unsolicited sexual advances.
That clip needs to be played and replayed every time a RW politician brings up drag queens.
Rudy still doesn’t have a Georgia lawyer, but unindicted co-conspirator 5 Bernard Kerik is helping out. I again wonder if not having a local lawyer is a delaying tactic. Though I can believe Rudy can’t afford one if Trump won’t pay for it.
I don’t think he has a job, especially since he can’t practice law anymore, and he has these lawsuits weighing him down. I could believe he’s broke.
I could more likely believe that he is terrified of accessing any assets he has that are hidden from prying eyes right now. Because those will be targeted by all the other actions against him. So it’s a liquidity / exposure issue.
Of course, he could just be so stupid that he never figured he’d have his assets at risk, and didn’t hide any of them. With the Rudy we’ve been seeing for the last 8 years, it could go either way.
The weird part is, once Rudy does come to a bond agreement in Georgia, one of the conditions will be that he have no contact with any of the co-conspirators… so I guess he’ll no longer be able to talk to the guy who helped bail him out.
Didn’t his wife accuse him of this during their divorce? ISTR a big back and forth about hidden assets.
I think his “I’m too poor to afford a lawyer” schtick is bogus and a pile of crap.
I’m not 100% sure what they were accusing is the same sort of thing I was thinking of according to this:
Basically, she claimed that he was working for Trump pro bono, and paying out of pocket for travel and other expenses, but was billing and accepting money from other clients to cover those costs and creating an impression of a loss when he wasn’t actually doing so.
I -do- believe as stated upthread that he probably does have some cash/investments on the down low, or held in other names, but with the current scrutiny on him from multiple sources, if he touched those, his current and future creditors would likely pounce and freeze to prevent him from liquidating or transferring them beyond their reach.
But the actions of the last few years, and his penchant for the good things in life do not rule out that his assets are dwindling rapidly. Oh, I don’t believe he can’t afford what’s going on in his troubles to date, but he may well be able to figure out that as things continue, he won’t be able to afford his debts, defense, and penalties with his income and is playing “woe is me” card to try to run the clock out, whether to his own death or an unlikely return to power and prominence.
There’s a real nice hotel that could hide his assets under it’s garden.
